We are trying Mexican food restaurants in Lawrence to find our home base. This restaurant is either tied or first in place. We have tried 4 so far. I like traditional plates of refried beans, rice, ground beef taco, cheese and onion enchilada and pork tamale. That is combo tres and I loved it all. They use a gravy type sauce instead of typical red or brown enchilada sauce that is great. Kinda pricey compared to a couple other local places but I rather pay a bit more to want to clean my plate. Hubs got mango/pineapple fajitas and liked it enough to bring leftovers home. Music was loud when we entered off the street but we were seated on 2nd level which works great to enjoy music but not blaring. We will return.

The food was good! Unfortunately my family and I had a party of 9 and the waitress was only one of two working that evening. The business was very busy so my family and I waited about an hour to order our food. After ordering our food took about half an hour to come out. When the food came out many of the dishes were made incorrectly and one of the dishes was cold! If the business is busy I would not recommend going as it may take a long time for you to be served. Overall, good food but poor service! Would be willing to try again!

Today me and my girlfriend went into this restaurant I got the California burrito with queso on it I cut into my burrito the “potatoes” (theyre French fries btw)were cold to the chew and the steak tasted old my girlfriend got the panfried chicken tacos of course drowned in grease the fried tacos where so greasy they fell apart the chicken also was hard in places like it was just thrown in the microwave the servers came and asked if we needed anything and we told them about our food nothing was done as they walked off and tended to whatever they were doing after sitting and waiting for another 20 mins for someone to come no one ever came

I’ve given this place Three chances over the past few years. It has disappointed me every time. The food seems to lack flavor. The server we had three days ago seemed new and confused. I am very patient with servers but this one was quite odd. She took my wife’s drink order and walked away. Came back with her drink a few minutes later and took my drink order and walked away again. Came back with my drink a few minutes later and we ordered queso. Again, she walked away while I was asking her a question. She came back with queso and took our food orders. I clearly ordered a combo #3. She repeated back “numero tres?”. I said “yes, please” when we got our food it wasn’t what I ordered. I asked her about the mix up and she said “that is the number 1. That is what you asked for”. Didn’t offer to take it back at all. Ugh! I gave them this third and final chance because we were going to Sinkers (really close by) after dinner. Never again. When we got our chips and queso, half the basket of chips was crumbs. Obviously the last of the batch.

This place is awesome! I got the street tacos and they were the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention, the Blue Lagoon margarita was so good! Our amazing waiter Chris was kind and quick with our food. Definitely will come back

We came in as a family of 5, place in a booth not fitting for 5 people. We were sat down in the front of the building, a very cold spot. The server acted like she was ready to go home. It was 2 hours before close and a very cold evening. We were sat between a couple of groups of college kids, having fun, talking loud, those college kid things. The rest of the resurant was empty, obviously they sat every down in the glasses in area, the front of the restaurant, which is poorly made to combat weather.
The food was just okay. I had the mango fajitas, which came out less the sizzling. And soon was cold due to the environment. It was away to get the serve to refill the chips and salsa, or add more tortillas when we ran out.
They rushed us off by asking if we need boxes to go, before we were even done eating. Our bill was over $150. We were there for about an hour but only had our food for maybe 20 mins.
I was disappointed. Overall the fam loved the food and the time we spent with each other.
It’s important for all small resurants to stay open, working until close, not start closing hours before close. I’d place this grievance on the management.
I wish there ratings for management. I’d give it them 1 star.
I’ll try again soon, I’ll change this review if it turns out better. Best wishes for all involved but also, businesses have to make proper adjustments. I hope this can happen soon.

We were so excited to try out this new Mexican restaurant that just opened. We walked in and it is so nicely decorated! We were greeted and had water, chips, salsa and cheese brought out to us pretty fast. We were thrilled to see that the cheese was free! We arrived just in time for my husband to enjoy a 99 cent margarita which was pretty big and tasty for under a dollar! Our food arrived fast and was delicious! Our server checked on us often and made sure our waters were always full! We enjoyed our meal and can’t wait to try other items.
