The food was fresh and delicious. I ordered the curry oxtails and she ordered the fish. We all had egg rolls and the papaya salad.
My reason for the 4 stars is simple. I thought their food was really good but was it worth that price? I found it a little overpriced for what I received. I recognize this is just my opinion but a mocktail for $14 to $19 is a little expensive. I ordered some food for my husband to go as well. And when we were all done it averaged about $100 per person. And we don’t drink alcohol.
So I’m on the fence I buy would go back again based on the price, but it was delicious and it was a beautiful experience.
Other than a brief 3–5 minute wait to be seated past our reservation time, I truly can’t think of a single complaint. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the overall experience felt special from start to finish.
I will say the price point is definitely on the higher end, so come prepared to spend accordingly ; but it felt worth it.
Here’s what we ordered:
* Neau Num Tok Rolls – 7/10 Solid and flavorful starter, but we could have been fine without ordering this appetizer.
* Papaya Salad – 6/10 The salad itself was fantastic! Fresh, vibrant, spicy, and well-balanced. Only negative thing was the shrimp were too dry. In hindsight, I’d order it without the shrimp.
* Panang Neua – 100/10 The absolute star of the evening. This is the massive bone-in cut of meat in the attached photo, and we genuinely couldn’t stop eating it. Tender, rich, and packed with flavor – it’s to die for.
* Pad See You – 10/10 A noodle dish we absolutely loved. Perfectly cooked with amazing flavor.
For dessert, we had the croissant bread pudding since they were out of sticky rice. I’d give it a 6/10 – good, but nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, this place is a whole vibe. The decor, atmosphere, and service were all incredibly enjoyable, and the food was truly impressive.
A great spot for a special occasion, just plan your budget accordingly. $200 pre-tip for all of the above. (Had a beer, mocktail, house limeade and a sparkling water too).
The drinks were cute, fancy & very delicious. The food was tasteful, beautifully placed, and designed. Plus everything we got was just yum! I don’t remember what we got. I recall everything we got but I did get pictures. The farmhouse chicken wings were crispy yet moist inside, nicely cooked. The sauce that went with it was savory, somewhat sweet but a great blend of flavors. It went really well with the chicken.
We also tried the crab fried rice, spicy and a fruit or herb that looks like a grapevine. I haven’t had it before but that was a nice bitter spiciness. Didn’t see a lot of crab but it was still good fried rice with the prawns. Came with a side of broth – good combo.
We also got the lao style papaya salad. It was acidic, lightly sweet, salty, spicy, fishy – just the way we like it . It was good. Get it if you want a pop of Asian flavor. So much to try and enjoy. We’ll definitely be back.
Note: Street parking or valet parking so just be mindful about that.
Date/time of visit: Thursday night, 6:15 PM
Parking: we were at VR Sandbox, ~15 min walk to Farmhouse. We parked at VR Sandbox lot, shared with Whole Foods. With validation, $5. They offer valet for $7. Saw some street parking but will be hard to find
Party size: 7
Environment/ambience: We had reservations for 6:15 PM, booked online via Yelp. When we came, only few people seated in the back. When we left, was crowded everywhere so suggest making reservations. Outside back seating was nice; seems like they converted someone’s house maybe into a restaurant. We seemed pretty close to the neighbors . Sat near the water fountain, which is kinda cool + annoying; the sound was peaceful but the water splashes on you every now and then . Not too loud but busy. Waitress was friendly. We paid but they had an issue with payment so we had to complete the next day; not sure if that happens often or how they would get ahold of us if we didn’t make reservations
Service: was great; she was friendly. Everyone we met that worked there was friendly. Only issue was the payment; they had to follow up next day to complete payment because it didn’t go through for whatever reason.
Food: had the crab fried rice, some of the beef from the beef noodle soup (beef fell off the bone ), crispy egg rolls, Thai tea, and chill pill. Everything was good; this is a good option for groups with vegetarians. Lots of non meat options.
Cost: ~$530 with tip
Would I go back (yes/no): 90/10
