Was super happy to find out that Beech Tree Cafe was going to be offering Juice Tree as I was a fan of the Juice Shack when they were open. I went to Beech Tree Cafe last week with my husband shortly after they started offering Juice Tree to get bowls. We ordered the Yinzer bowl and the Bananna Blossom Bowl. We were sorely disappointed to see that the bowls were not nearly as full as they used to be at the Juice Shack. (At the Juice Shack, the bowls were always filled to the brim, almost to the point of overflowing.) Pic 1. Not only were the bowls filled less, Pic 2, they cost more too. When I got my Yinzer bowl it was missing the peanut butter that was supposed to be in it. I chalk that up to a rookie mistake, as the staff was new to making the bowls, but paying more for less… Not Happy!

i have been coming to beech tree since they opened. its been a very consistent place in my routine. always loved the breakfast sandwiches and still do! although i went to get matchas with my mom and why are 2 iced matchas 20$. we want to shop small but even other local businesses arent charging that. i wont be back for a long time. in this economy. 2 drinks shouldnt be as much as food.

Starting with the good :
They make a fantastic strawberry matcha – I would return solely for this drink. Plus this place has the cutest decor and such good vibes inside.

Unfortunately, the bagel sandwich was not great. I got the Sunbrooke. It was really dry overall and not very cohesive. Not worth the $10.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of their Boston cream donut either. The chocolate on top was delicious, but the cream filling tasted really artificial. It wasn’t very soft either, which was disappointing.

I’d definitely go back for a matcha, but not likely for their food.

First time here, my husband and I stopped for a quick breakfast and coffee. We both enjoyed our food and coffee. He got the Average Joe and I got the Sunny side breakfast sandwich. We plan on stopping in soon.

Stopped in for the first time with my husband after looking for a more classic donut shop in Altoona area. We were amazed at the selection and agreed the strawberry shortcake donut was one of the best donuts we’ve ever had. Definitely will be back!!

Absolutely the best donut/coffee shop ever. The food is also delicious. Writing this makes me want to go get chicken salad. They are always friendly and smiling. Space is always clean. I cant say enough great things.

I was in the area and decided that I was gonna go to Dave’s Dream and get a nice dessert. But as I glanced over to my left I noticed a sign that read “Best donuts ever!”

So I decided to take a detour and see what it was all about.

I walked inside to discover a clean, well staffed and eclectic eatery that I had never noticed before. Now the donut offerings were what I stopped for, but I soon found out that they have a great menu including a variety of items.

They also serve specialty coffee.

So I ordered half a dozen donuts and a house blend coffee at a price that simply can’t be beaten in this economy.

…..Even more so because the high quality donuts are made and baked in house fresh EVERY SINGLE DAY!

For the price, effort and quality that goes into the production of a Beech Tree Cafe donut, I can solidly place these guys way ahead of any national donut chain.

…..You simply can’t do better than going local with these guys!

The donuts I ate were tasty, fresh and well worth the price. The staff was friendly and knew their craft well. The regular clientele were, obviously, satisfied……..this with a frequent patron singing their praises to me while I was still in line.

But I found that everything told to me by this patron was absolutely correct. So I will be back to try some of their other local and fresh offerings.

And, truth be told , I have found that Hollidaysburg is a special place that respects its historical roots, architecture and style. Truly, when crossing over into this place on a drive, one can feel a change of principality, power and spirit.

This positive spirit extends to the cuisine and eateries found in this locale. And the Beech Tree Cafe is a sterling example of the local food excellence that exists here that you will not be disappointed with.

The first time I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, it was amazing! The second time I ordered it, it came without pesto or tomato. I messaged the business, but never heard back. When done right, the food is great; I just wish the customer service was better.

L—O-V-E it! Such a great new addition to the area. The space encompass what once used to be donut connection and subway and is now spacious, comfortably decorated and accessible. The menu is great (I enjoyed the Brie and berry toast) and the coffee is of great quality. Prices are reasonable and parking is available.
