This was my first visit. But it wont be my last It’s a small place but a very good atmosphere, very comfortable. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The food was fantastic. For $11.50 i had two eggs, two sausages patties, toast, a large pancake, and all the Pepsi i could drink.

(Quick disclaimer: This review is ONLY about their Thanksgiving dinner. It was our first time here, and they were only serving the holiday meal today, so I can’t speak for their regular menu or normal service.)
My husband and I don’t have family around, so our Thanksgiving tradition is usually going out for Chinese food. Since nothing was open, we checked Facebook and saw tons of people recommending this place for their Thanksgiving dinner. We thought, “Well, let’s try something new.”
The restaurant itself is cute and laid-back seat yourself and enjoy. The Thanksgiving meal, though, felt a bit like when a dad gets the kids for Thanksgiving for the first time and suddenly discovers the canned goods aisle. Green beans? Canned. Corn? Canned. Mashed potatoes? Boxed. Cranberry sauce? Straight from the can for sure.
My stuffing was a mushy little blob that I kept nibbling at, hoping each bite would magically taste better (it did not). Meanwhile, my husband’s stuffing tasted totally different, looked different and actually better, which made us laugh because apparently even the stuffing had different personalities today. Our turkey was also cold, which didn’t help.
The sign in the window said you could choose pumpkin or sweet potato pie, but we only got pumpkin. Maybe they ran out, no big deal but the pie was also ice cold, which kind of stole the joy of dessert.
At $15.99 per plate, it wasn’t the comforting Thanksgiving meal we hoped for. But we do genuinely appreciate that they were open on a holiday. With a few tweaks and a little more homemade love (and fewer cans), this could be a much better experience.
We’ll absolutely give them another try on a normal day. There are so many glowing reviews about their regular food that we’re sure today wasn’t their best showing, it just didn’t live up to what we were expecting based on the recommendations.

This is arguably my favorite breakfast spot in Poplar Bluff. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the food is phenomenal. I typically order either the country-fried steak or the trucker plate. Eggs are always perfectly cooked, bacon is nice and crisp, and pancakes are fluffy. I will say that the hashbrowns aren’t particularly great, as the outsides tend to be somewhat burnt in spots while the middle does not get any crispness to it. However, I will still give this place 5 stars for its many other redeeming qualities. This diner feels the epitome of a hometown Midwestern diner, where none of the chairs match, but everyone seems to know each other and the walls are dripping with a sort-of southern charm decor style that makes me think someone’s meemaw decorated it. Would 100% reccomend eating here.

I honestly don’t know why you would eat breakfast anywhere else. Foods always great, best bacon and sausage. No cheapo garbage. Just good honest food. I never am around for lunch but friends and family always rave about it. Catfish especially.
