Aloha everyone,
I wanted to share my experience at this restaurant today. As a local, I try to support small businesses because they depend on the community just as much as visitors.

I stopped in for my usual chicken sandwich. The food is okay, but the prices are a bit higher than other Vietnamese restaurants, especially the ones in Chinatown. In the past, the service here has always been friendly, so today’s visit caught me by surprise.

The owner seemed tense, and both I and an older woman ahead of me were met with a tone that felt sharper than usual. After placing my order, I noticed a refrigerator with flan and drinks. I opened it without seeing the sign asking customers not to, an honest mistake. When I asked a question afterward, the response felt more hostile than I expected. I even asked if everything was alright because the interaction was so different from what I’ve experienced before.

I truly hope the owner was just having a rough day. I’ve enjoyed this place in the past, but based on today’s experience, I’m not sure I’ll be returning.

Mahalo.

Avoid like the plague. Food was okay – mediocre pho and above-average bahn mi (served with freshly baked baguette). The problem is with the surly attitude and borderline price deception. There was a sign at the payment counter saying prices have gone up, but nowhere else is is marked. Furthermore, owner (the surly one) made no mention of price changes when she took our order. In the meantime, the combo prices are displayed prominently at each table.

I’m surprised if this place has repeat customers. Shame on me for not checking reviews before coming here.

For really good pho on Oahu, try Pho & Co (Kapolei) or Yum Yum Pho (Pearl City). Great taste, and as a customer you actually feel appreciated.

Update: we came back to try its pho again because the last time I was called away before my pho arrived and I wound up eating luke warm pho. This time I had my pho and spring rolls while still hot. I have upgraded my review of this place to a 5*. The pho was one the best I have had in the past 40+ years and the spring rolls were the best found in a Vietnamese restaurant. The meat portion in the pho was smaller than other places, but I’m happy to trade more meat for a better tasting pho.

Original Review: Not sure why the negativities from other reviewers about the service. We thought it was just fine and the lady proprietor was friendly. Our phos were good as well and the quality of the ribeye was decent especially for a pho shop. The texture of the pho was a bit more firmer than other phos I’ve had in the past, which I enjoyed very much. Our spring rolls were up to standard as well. So this is a place that we would return in the future. For those with anger issues, please read the writings on the wall: Life is too short!

Advertising fresh sugar cane juice and they hand out fake flavoured lemonade with just hint of sugar cane juice. Avoid them at all cost who knows what’s with their food as well. Not at all friendly.

ABSOLUTELY fell in love with this place!! If you are in Honolulu, you MUST visit this place at least once!

Usually when you order multiple items at a new place, only 1 (or 2…if you are lucky) turns out to be good. But to our surprise, every 4 items we ordered were super delicious!

We ordered the Beef Stew with White Rice (#23), Oxtail Soup with Rice Noodle (#24), House Special Fried Rice (#95), Rice with BBQ Chicken Plate (#35) & 2 Freshly Pressed Sugar-Cane drinks (#128).

Every single item was very tasty, you can tell that each one of them was made with love and care. I was especially surprised with the BBQ chicken dish…usually the chicken gets dry and turns out not much flavorful. But this one was juicy and the seasoning was just right! I ended up ToGoing 2 more of this dish for next day.

The Freshly Pressed Sugar-Cane drink is to die for!! On a hot summer day this drink is heavenly ^_^ It’s made with slight hint of lime juice that adds a nice aroma to it.

The interior of the restaurant is cute, they has all these quotes on the wall about family that I found cute. The restaurant is very clean, they promptly clean and sanitize the tables between customers. They still had the partitions up between the tables when we visited them in April ‘22.

Overall we loved this place. I would highly recommend this place to my friends ^_^

The Pho here was amazing, beautiful decorated interior with motivational quotes. I can’t to come back and eat here again. It was great Pho before my long plane ride home. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food. Family owned, super clean. Love it, love it.

I spontaneously found this place and was very satisfied with the great food and service. I was craving a combination rice plate—I usually get it in Chinatown, but it’s really hit or miss over there. The owner helping me took my order immediately and told me it would take about 10 minutes. After picking up the food and eating, I’d say it’s very comparable to the cơm tấm rice plates I had in Vietnam. Definitely coming back, super delicious!!

This review is only for the fresh squeezed sugar cane drink which is $11. Firstly the drink comes with half ice. Fresh sugar cane drink in other countries never had ice. Secondly it doesn’t taste like fresh squeezed but tastes like store bought concentrate drink. Very surprised by this kind of low quality drink with such high price!

Worst experience ever!
Avoid this place!!!

They charged the small portion of food with higher price compared to other Vietnamese restaurants
The foods taste bland and are not attractive at all
No respect or appreciation to their customers by the quality and they way food served.
The server appears to be rough.
Totally disappointed and surprised to know how they can sell those food to people and get money.
Please do not sell something to people just simply to get money, but please care about customer’s experience with food and service.
