I ordered soul food on Sunday, (which is the only day it is offered). Everything was delicious! From the chicken to the greens (seasoned with turkey, not pork) to the candied yams to the baked mac ‘n’ cheese to the cornbread. And the fish & chips are delicious too (wild caught, no farm raised)!
P.S. The banana pie is bussing as well!

Overall this is a decent fish spot. I’m a big fan of their Soulfood dinners. My only complaint is the seasoning… sometimes the fish crust is too salty which I believe they’re aware of because the owner makes a tartar sauce that’s really sweet. I’ve spoken to him about it several times and he said he’s going to provide regular tartar sauce for those customers that don’t like their tartar sauce sweet.
Speaking of sweet… his desserts are really good. Pineapple coconut is a must try and the peach cobbler.
Macaroni salad is delicious. Seafood mac&cheese was good.

I got the Porgy Sandwich and at first I was excited cause it looked like a great portion of fish. I could tell it was hot off the fryer cause it was melting through the takeout container. Maybe a little hazardous but no biggie. I take a good bite of my sandwich and nearly CHOKED on a giant fishbone. Now at first I give it a pass because we all know there’s going to be some bones left over sometimes, but sure enough I bite down and there was just the entire spine left in and it’s impossible to eat as a sandwich. Nearly killed me y’all.

Its pretty gross, I don’t know how else to put it
We’ve had their pasta and rice dishes in the past, they’re all very bland and mushy.
Just now I tried their onion rings and shrimp fried rice.
1. The onion rings hurt to chew, I didn’t know onion rings could be that hard. Can’t even feel an onion hidden in the skeleton of what was once batter.
2. The shrimp has 3 different sizes, ranging from baby shrimp to maybe 26/30, and they’re all overcooked as hell(like chewing a piece of tire)
The rice is the only item I’ve had with robust flavor, but it’s more oily than panda Express, might as well ask for extra rice to your order of oil.
I’ve had their food three times now, and every time has been a serious disappointment considering the price.
I’m just glad I didn’t pay for it myself, and I don’t plan to.
Edit – just took a bite of the “Mac n cheese” that was ordered, it tastes like pasta salad filled with imitation crab meat. I’m allergic to white fish and my lips are tingling.
I sold fresh seafood for 7 years, I cooked seafood just as long, for what it’s worth.
Last time we will be ordering from this place.

Food was excellent! I had wings and they were perfect, tasted like they were fresh off the grill. The shimp and catfish were also great and seasoned well. Fried snapper was the best ive had in a long while and the old bay fries are a must try! 10/10

I had a disappointing experience at this fish fry place. The fish and seasoned fries were fried too hard, and the fish was gooey on the inside. The texture was off, and the overall taste was unappetizing. I ended up spitting out the entire meal. I hope they can improve their cooking methods.

Upon arrival, I noticed the multitude of flying insects. I still wanted to give them a chance. In my opinion, the food was not good. The professionalism was not there. The atmosphere was depressing. Anyone can say that they own a business. You have to make it something that positively stands out and good enough so that even if the presentation isn’t that great, the food is slamming. Sorry to say, I won’t come here again.

First time trying this place and I’m a huge fish and chips fan so I was sooooo excited to see a fish fry restaurant. Got the flounder/shrimp combo with old bay fries, Cole slaw, and hush puppies. Everything was absolutely superb! Made fresh and hot, the batter was very tasty and crispy on the fish and shrimp, the Cole slaw was the best I’ve had in a very very long time like homemade! The hushpuppies were the perfect mix of crispy, soft, and sweet. I will definitely be returning. One of my new favorite places! The service was awesome and they had my stuff out very quickly. And the cocktail sauce is some of the best I’ve had just like homemade also! Thank you for the great experience!
