It’s one of the most convenient and cost effective restaurant at Stratton. You can almost always get a seat without a reservation. The food can use a little more seasoning but the portions are on the bigger side. Menu is a little limited. The bar has a better selection with some funky cocktails. Fireplace, high ceilings and big windows make for great ambiance.

We walked in without a reservation during dinner time and we were promptly seated. Our server was very kind and was very thorough when taking our order. The atmosphere is extremely confusing with some people wearing suits and others doing pushups on the floor. All of the food is extremely expensive for the portion sizes and the quality is not worth the price. They are serving 1 1/2 cups of mashed potatoes for $7. By far the worst part of my experience was the dessert. Every desert is $10.95 and is a complete scam, the “Clown Sundae” was 3-4 scoops of mediocre vanilla ice-cream on a plate with a cone on top. The tiramisu was not fully thawed resulting in a icy crunchy texture, I suspect that it was frozen and store bought. Over the service was very good but there was definitely room for improvement with the atmosphere and food.

Honestly I can say it has been the worst food I’ve ever tried in the US. We ordered the salmon, meatloaf and capers sauce pasta. Food presentation wasn’t good, taste was to simple and the description in the menu looks much better than the actual plate. The place was really hot that me and my friends were sweating. The attention was good.

After reading bad reviews we almost did not go here. It was DELICIOUS! Service was excellent too! Fresh bread, delicious garden salad and fabulous eggplant over linguine. I was so sorry I did not have room for desert. I’ll be back soon!!

I have eaten here in the past and it was fine, but my most recent trip was excellent. The restaurant seems to be under new leadership. The menu is great, service exceptional, and food was perfect. I ordered the strip steak and asked for it to be cooked a very particular way. I rarely order steak at a restaurant unless I know for sure it will be great, but I took a chance this time based on the recommendation of the server. The steak was prepared exactly as I asked it to be. But on top of that, the meat was really special. A strip steak is usually a little on the tougher side compared with a ribeye and filet, but this one had the texture of a filet and the taste of a strip. It was also prepared in a way that indicates they are doing something special behind the curtain. They have a flame grill but there was a crust on my steak that indicated they were doing something more than simply grilling it. Maybe it was a butter bath, or the seasoning, but whatever they did it was amazing. It was also a very clean piece of meat, no chewy bits, the fat was trimmed, and it just looked beautiful on the plate. I wish I had taken a photo. Overall, a great experience.

Gorgeous restaurant located outside of the village on Stratton mountain, in the black Bear Lodge. Friendly service with a smile and delicious food. The black bear burger was juicy seasoned to perfection. And for dessert we had a chocolate peppermint martini from the bar. It was so delicious! It tasted like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Five stars!

The menu has been drastically reduced compared to our last visit two years ago. The menu looks basically like a reduced “special” sandwiches and appetizers only. The chicken gyro was dried out chicken breast. The fries were heavy handed with the salt. The fried chicken sandwich was also heavy handed with the salt. A definite disappointment compared to previous experience and expectations. Table had a thin film of not being wiped, and the a third of the chairs in the entire place were ripped…can’t even fake caring or bothering to duck tape or at least seat the few customers at tables with decent chairs. (EDIT: two nights later they had a dinner buffet spread, but didn’t experience it after the experience of the first night, decided to stay away from this place for dinner. Also, the complementary breakfast diminished as the days went on…next day had less selection of packaged cereal, fresh fruit and juices (Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, and more to just Scooters and Cheerios and instant oatmeal, apples and pears to just pears and three juices to just apple and cranberry).)

Came to Table 43.1 for dinner on the weekday. The place was almost empty. The decor is nice. The fireplace was on and made the big space cozy. The menu is very interesting. We were not too hungry, so four of us got just a few starters and were planning to decide on the entries later. We ordered the Duck Wings (with the Maple BBQ sauce), Poutine, and the Mediterranean Street Fries. Well, the portions were huge! The wings were crispy and flavorful. Poutine was very tasty and filling and had lots of short rib meat in it. The sweet potato fries dish had an interesting combination of flavors and textures. Basically, we were full just after the appetizers. We ordered one entry anyway – Fried Chicken southern style. It was pretty good. We decided to finish the meal sharing a bit of ice cream. So we ordered one sundae and 4 spoons. Well, the bowl was enormous – 4 scoops! The local ice cream was very good and it was topped with salted caramel and chocolate sauces and candied nuts. Delicious!
Service was very good – attentive, with a smile.
We really enjoyed our meal here. Great restaurant choice after a long day on the slopes just a few steps away from your room.

We went there Last Saturday for dinner. I felt like we got discriminated. We specificly asked for A la carte menu and the waitress told us they only serve buffet food and we start eating but 10 min later another group came and they asked for the a la carte menu and the same waitress said sure they have, she brought the menu and she explained the entire menu for 5 minutes. On the other hand she didnt even looked our face. There were only 3 of us and they added 20% gratuity on our order. She was super rude. I still dont get it. Is it because of our skin color? I wont recommend to this place to any colored skin people!!!!!
