Hip, brick-clad eatery & lounge for Gansu & Sichuan-style fare, plus teas, wine, sake & cocktails.

I had a fantastic experience.
Great egg rolls and egg drop soup. The bao buns are legit bao buns and not bao tacos.
The lomein and Szechuan are amazing.
The vibe is very date friendly. Plenty of tables for a party of 8. I’ve added pictures to review. The host was very polite and friendly. Are food came out hot and fast.

Food is pretty solid! Pay attention to their item descriptions as some of their dishes are different than you expect. Their vermicelli bowls with grilled beef are great. Also their green beans are delish. Been in there about 5 times to sit down and eat and always had great service each time. However, they usually have some kind of plumbing issue or smell which puts me off from wanting to sit down and eat. We usually order to go. Definitely worth checking out!

This place has some of the best Asian food I have had in Iowa. There was a nice variety from Vietnamese to Chinese and everything we tried was delicious. I highly recommend the soup dumplings! The place doesn’t specialize in dumplings, but they sure tasted like they do specialize in them. Our server was also very attentive and happy to teach us how to eat certain dishes the correct way since we had not had some of the traditional dishes before. They seem to get a lot of take out orders, but I recommend eating in if you can to get the full experience and get the food at its freshest:)

Beef pho soup was ok beef wasn’t very tender , soup wasn’t as hot was we are used to. Generally the beef cooks in the broth. Asked for less noodles and lo and behold they were piled in. Pulled half out. They did bring the fresh basil, lime, bean sprouts. Sriracha, fish sauce ect. So all in all pretty good
We also got the happy family, ordered zero spice, it came loaded with red pepper piece. Very spicy. That being said it was really delicious once we got acclimated to the spice level, we were sweating and got our sinuses cleared out.
The pork dumplings were good, not as
Warm as we are used too. But very good.
Bobo tea was good. Also got the mango smoothie, aka fire extinguisher. Very good.
Atmosphere is very plain. But clean
Service was great.

Went to Heavenly Asian Cuisine & Lounge last night and the food was amazing! We got the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer, I got sesame chicken with steamed white rice, my boyfriend got the combination noodle bowl. All of it was great and the server was very friendly. Highly recommend!!

I had a very disappointing experience with both the service and the food. The staff and manager were not willing to assist or address my concerns as a guest. I paid for my order and simply expected to receive what I paid for, but that was not the case. I am not trying to get anything for free, I only wanted the correct service and food. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this business. I strongly encourage the team to work on listening to and take care their guests better. No wonder that you don’t even have guests.

Came here for lunch and started with three appetizers: soup pork dumplings, spicy shrimp and pork wontons, and salt-and-pepper calamari. All three were fantastic and honestly made me realize I could come here just for the apps alone.
I also ordered the hot chicken Sichaun lunch special, which came with soup, rice, an egg roll, and a crab rangoon. Everything was incredibly flavorful and tasted very fresh. You can add a spice level whichni recommend if you like spice. Definitely a satisfying lunch all around.

Was looking for a place that had good Sichuan food in Des Moines. I also love supporting smaller businesses like this one. The food was great! It wasn’t traditional Sichuan peppercorn meals, but very good American-Chinese food. Vegetables and shrimp were super fresh and delicious. Cucumber salad was warm, which was unique. I’m used to cold cucumbers in chili oil. The steamed wontons were absolutely amazing! I could’ve ordered 3 pots of those! Thanks for the great meal. Highly recommend!

This is a gemstone hidden in a sea of polished glass. My first and definitely not my last visit to this establishment was one of the best Asian food experiences of my life. As a family outing we sampled a large portion of the menu and not a single bit was miss prepared. While the price is a little high for a weekly visit, it is perfectly priced for the quality you get. Staff is friendly. If I had to pick one negative, the chairs could use more padding. If that is the only negative I would say they did great.
Update: Second Review, Customer Service is well above par, My Family had a wonderful time.

On my short list for the visit to Des Moines. Heavenly showed up positive on the rating sites and I can see why. I am a sucker for dumplings. But good dumplings and these are very good I had the spicy shrimp dumplings and these pork Xian Bao steamed dumplings. These along with a citrus fruit tea with watermelon boba was a great lunch. There was about 8 things I wanted to try on their menu. If return to West Des Moineso will return to Heavenly.
