Colorful eatery serving locally sourced Mexican fare with many vegan options, plus margaritas.

White washed Mexican restaurant. If you’re white you’ll love but actual Mexicans skip and make food at home. Chips good but salsa was not handmade but processed. Mexican rice had no flavor, smashed beans was salty, pinto beans whole very good. Enchiladas and Tacos good. Price for food was fair.

Been here a few times. Always good service and a great patio. They have a nice happy hour. I got the moly enchiladas and they were good plus a couple of tacos on happy hour. Need to come out for margaritas more often.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican this is not your place. I think they’re just going for over priced “trendy”. No Mexican music nor employees on the floor. It took them awhile on how to figure out how to seat 6. Not busy yet it took awhile for our waiter to come take our drink our. Took even longer for him to deliver half of the drinks. We had to remind him twice of missing sodas. Took just as long to take our food order yet it came out quickly. I ordered the Queso Chimichanga. The Queso looked like a blended Cheese Wiz and tasted the same. It was not crispy either. Tasted ok at best. My dad did enjoy his Enchiladas though.

As someone from Texas, I’m a tough judge of Mexican food, and Cafe Corazon absolutely nails it. The food is authentic, fresh, and consistently amazing.
Bryan and Courtney gave us exceptional service and made us feel truly welcome. Abby and Winston are also fantastic and a big reason we love coming back.
Great food, great people, and easily one of my favorite spots here

Café Corazón was a delicious surprise. Despite the cold weather outdoors, inside it was pleasantly warm, colorful and inviting, and bustling with activity — nearly every table was full, and the bar as well. Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful, and I loved my salmon tacos and horchata. The horchata was refreshing and well-spiced, and the salmon tacos were fresh, flavorful and full of crunchy cabbage. With sides of rice and either black or refried beans, dinner was filling and delicious.

I keep wanting to like this local favorite BUT let’s just start with hair in food. When I brought it to my server’s attention, her only reaction was to offer to remove it from the table. House
margaritas $10 good. Guacamole a smooth variety with good lime and a pleasant smoky taste. Chips come with a paprika sprinkle I could do without.
The carnitas enchiladas disappointing. The carnitas meat managed to be gristly with fat and dry at the same time. They offer 3 different types of beans, appreciated by those who don’t want refried. This locale always seems cold. Sitting down on one of those metal chairs on a winter day not comfy.

Courtney is, without question, an outstanding bartender who elevates the entire experience the moment you sit down. From the start, she is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making every guest feel comfortable and valued. Her knowledge of cocktails is impressive—whether you’re ordering a classic drink or asking for a recommendation, she consistently delivers something perfectly balanced and tailored to your taste.
What truly sets Courtney apart is her professionalism paired with personality. She manages a busy bar with ease, staying calm, efficient, and friendly no matter how crowded it gets. Drinks come out quickly without ever sacrificing quality, and her attention to detail is evident in every pour and garnish. She has a great sense for reading the room, knowing when to chat and when to keep things moving, which makes the atmosphere enjoyable for everyone.
Beyond her technical skill, Courtney’s positive energy and genuine care for customers make her unforgettable. She remembers faces, preferences, and always goes the extra mile to ensure a great time. If Courtney is behind the bar, you can be confident you’re in excellent hands—she’s a true asset and the kind of bartender that keeps people coming back.

I was really excited about this restaurant as I’ve passed it several times. When we got there, we got seated right away. We waited for our waitress (light-skinned young lady with long individual braids) to work with us, but she was having a conversation with someone. We asked the greeter if someone was going to help us, and she looked at the waitress and the waitress looked at her. The greeter was gracious enough to take our order while the waitress continued on with her conversation. The greeter helped us as much as she could, but she needed assistance with the drink menu. Someone from the back had to come and help her while the waitress continued with her conversation. Eventually, the waitress kindly started assisting us. She was very sweet. We ordered a taco salad. I wasn’t sure if the taco salad was for a kid, but it was fine. I was surprised that they used spring mix for the salad. It was a little different, but okay. The beans and meat were at the bottom which made the bottom of the tortilla shell wet and soft. The salsa and hot chips were delicious. The seafood burrito was amazing. Our waitress didn’t see about us too often. I was nearly dehydrated before she refilled my glass of water. This is a very busy restaurant. Kudos to your establishment for the continual flow of customers.

Crazy that the midwest would consider this mexican food. old el paso salsa for the chips, greasy weird colored corn tortillas, and the steak was flavorless. Rice and beans were okay. servers were nice. for a place that means love, they should put a little more love into the food.

We honestly did not expect much from a Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee and we were pleasantly surprised. The enchiladas and tacos were tasty and well prepared. Service was efficient and pleasant. I give it 2 stars for atmosphere because somehow they had the TV on loud and other music playing at the same time. Or maybe it was Mexican music from one source and metal from another. Either way, it was unpleasant. Overall good experience though.
