I had to come back and edit this review for folks who shop value meals at a fastfood. I gotta tell you I found the best value meal here at Capriotti’s. My office manger said let’s get takeout delivered to the office on Friday and I said fine what are you in the mood for and she said I can eat a fresh turkey sub. I said I can eat one too let me pull up their website and get the menu up. Don’t know why I have never seen this on when I visit in person but there it was right there on the menu, the $9.99 duo! Folks I am talking about a hardy salad with half a fresh turkey all for right under $10.00. That’s my combo but you can make yours with soup and half a cheesesteak or any other combination all for under $10.00. My friends that’s a value meal!

Sooo, I have gotten sandwiches from this Capriotti’s many times over the years (we live in Baltimore County but have family in Delaware and often hit this location on the way back home), but this had to have been the WORST experience I’ve had there. I’m starving and was looking forward to eating a FRESH Bobbie turkey sandwich, but when I got home and bit into one half, it was like trying to chew SHOE LEATHER, the roll was so hard (see the attached video). Clearly, I did Not get the same high quality sandwich that I’m used to, so I was extremely disappointed with this store tonight.
Do BETTER.

Yeah so I went there and the main guy that rang me up was so rude. I asked for extra mayo and they put NONE on my sandwiches and he seemed very irritated when I asked questions (politely) about the subs bc my family and I are vegetarian. I feel like he left out the mayo on purpose bc he was racist and even wrote “EXTRA MAYO” on the subs without putting any. He was nice to the old yt guys behind me though. And before anyone asks I wasn’t being a Karen at all. I even tipped them but shouldn’t have. The only nice one was the young girl there who explained to him to just make a veggie sub (not that hard).
* edit: yep, looking at the other reviews I’m not the only one that thinks the manager is awful and they don’t pay attention at ALL to order details and are terrible with customer service. Also love how all their responses to all the bad reviews (and there is a lot) blame the customer instead of taking constructive criticism

I usually avoid this location because their subs are almost always bad but I haven’t been in a year and thought I’d give it a try again. Nothing has changed, I got the large homemade turkey and as always it was dry and had about half the amount of meat that it should, the last 2 inches on both sides were just bread. Just avoid this one, other locations in the area are better.

Was greeted right away when I came to get a large order. The staff was friendly and quick, and the food was stellar. I strongly recommend considering them for any sandwich catering. Everyone was in love with the quality and flavor at our gathering.

Capriotti’s has really went down hill. Ordered a turkey hoagie with mayo, mustard, pickles and extra cheese. 22 dollars for a sandwich for it to not have pickles no extra cheese and barely any mustard or mayo.
I called the establishment immediately after seeing it and was told to bring it back and they will remake it. Sorry I’m not driving 20+ min for y’all to remake a 20 dollar sandwich that should have been made correctly from the start. The person on the phone puts me on hold for a few and returns saying his boss won’t do anything unless the sandwich is brought back. I wasn’t even looking for a full refund but telling me bring it back or tough luck is ridiculous especially for the prices charged.
I would stay away from this company. They used to pride themselves on being a top tier establishment and now it’s about churning out as many sandwiches as possible regardless if the order is correct or not. You are better off going to a country maid. Same fresh turkey, less money and your order will be right. I won’t be giving them my money again.

Incredibly dirty. The floors are disgraceful; pieces of food & a roach running around. All eight tables were dirty, only the high top counter seating was clean. 2:30pm, not busy.

First time here and this place does not disappoint! Excellent staff and food was AMAZING! We make trips to jersey all the time and stop in DE for gas and food. This will become part of our trips for years to come! Great job team!

I haven’t been to Capriotti’s, but I always loved there subs. This experience was not good. Maybe it was the location. The $14 Bobby I ordered barely had anything on it and the turkey had bones in it. The biggest one about the size of a dime.

Capriotti’s is a sandwich lover’s paradise, serving up generously sized subs with quality ingredients and bold flavors. While it’s a chain, this Newark location feels very local thanks to the friendly staff and efficient service. The space is clean and casual—perfect for a quick bite or a takeout stop. Their claim to fame is the “Bobbie” sandwich, which I had to try. It’s essentially Thanksgiving on a roll: slow-roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo. I was honestly surprised at how balanced it was—savory, sweet, and creamy all at once. The turkey tasted freshly carved, not like deli meat, and the stuffing had a nice herby flavor that didn’t overwhelm. I also tried a Capastrami—hot pastrami with Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing—and it was just as satisfying. The bread is soft but holds up well, and portion sizes are huge. You’ll definitely leave full. They offer both cold and hot subs, vegetarian options, and even party trays for group orders. Everything’s made to order, and the staff are fast and efficient, even during busy lunch hours. Prices are fair for the quality and size of the sandwiches. Capriotti’s isn’t fancy, but that’s its charm—it delivers big, bold sandwiches that feel like comfort food but with deli-level quality. It’s a spot I’ll return to often.
