Quick service, well prepared foods.

They ah e everything so dialed in we were in and out in 35 min but never felt rushed. The ramen was thick and tasty and the Taishoken broth was incredibly complex with good chewy noodle to complement it.

Worth making reservations as it can get busy

Dropped by on Friday around 6-7pm, waited for 20-30 minutes for one. I enjoyed my drink and dinner here. Never had tsukemen before, I liked it. Different from ramen or udon, in its own class. The karaage was solid but nothing special. Most of all I appreciate the service. The gentleman who was attending all of us sitted at the bar was super kind and helpful, true Japanese hospitality that’s hard to experience even in Japan nowadays. Strong recommend if you’re looking for authentic Japanese experience.

Taishoken is our family’s favorite ramen restaurant in the city- hands down!

We come for the Shio Chuka Soba (aka something truly special). Easily the best chicken ramen in San Francisco: a broth that’s light yet deeply flavorful, clearly simmered with care, patience, and high-quality ingredients. Every bowl feels intentional.

But what truly sets Taishoken apart is the people. Yuji, along with Rowan and the woman running the front-of-house, represent the pinnacle of hospitality. They consistently anticipate our needs with genuine warmth and sincerity. Thoughtful, attentive, and kind- every single time.

At our daughter’s request, we chose Taishoken for her 6th birthday lunch. Even though we already dine here nearly every Sunday, this visit felt extra special. We left thinking that every lunch celebration should happen here. The team put so much care into making sure we were looked after and, most importantly, that our daughter felt truly celebrated. It meant more to us than we can easily put into words.

To the owners of Taishoken: you have struck gold with Yuji, Rowan, and the entire Mission team. We are so grateful for all of you- and we’ll happily keep coming back, bowl after bowl.

Grilled eggplant was the best. Agadashi tofu was delicious as usual. Our sashimi platter melted in mouth.
Ramen broth was tasty – soft boiled egg was cooked to perfection. Service was amazing. High recommended this place.

What n experience? When was the last time you went to a restaurant and you felt taken care for? The waitress and the manager came multiple times to the table to check if everything was alright even with a restaurant full.

Beyond the service, the ramen was an incredible experience. The noodles are thin and wiggly but a pocket of flavor.
I ordered the vegetarian ramen. Blew my mind. The broth is delicate and silky, full of flavor and body without being too heavy. The oyster mushrooms simulate chicken and I truly couldn’t find one flaw in this experience. This may be in my top 3 favorite places to eat ramen in SF

The tsukemen was delicious, the broth is a little runnier than I’m used to, but it has plenty of flavor and still sticks well to the noodles.

The roasted chashu was a little too fatty for my liking, but I really liked the sous vide chashu.

Probably the best ramen in SF! The noodles are very thin, which makes it even more amazing. We also tried the wagyu beef ramen, and it was so good that we’re still talking about it days later

The service is kind and attentive. They always check if the table needs anything and are quick to assist. I also love that they provide all the necessary utensils for kids, including scissors to cut the ramen noodles, it makes feeding little ones so much easier.

I also recommend their appetizers and hand rolls. The spicy salmon hand roll is my go to.

Delicious ramen broth (cooked over 2 days), delicate agedashi tofu and great service in this small restaurant in the Mission District. Happy hour from opening until 6 daily.

I had an amazing meal at Taishoken! I ordered the vegetarian miso ramen, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of savory miso goodness. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the assortment of vegetables added a great variety of textures and tastes. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a comforting bowl of ramen. The service was quick and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. If you’re a fan of ramen, especially vegetarian options, Taishoken is definitely worth a visit!
