I don’t understand the low review score. This place is amazing on multiple levels. First of all, the reception and wait staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is amazing!! Some of the best sushi we have ever had. Everything is fresh and delicious. The price can’t be beat. I lived downtown for years, and had access to some of the most highly rated sushi joints, and have eaten at many of them. This place is as good as the best I have had.

Let’s start with the BBQ whole squid, wow! We always order 2 because it’s so delicious! Then on to one of the main course,Samshimi Osaka, beautifully prepared, even better because it’s always fresh never disappointing! This place is our favorite Japanese restaurant in this area. My friends and I have been coming to Wakame twice a week for the past several months. The atmosphere is unmatched, the quality of the fish never disappoints, and the portions and prices impress me every single time. It’s always a great experience, and Cheri always makes us feel at home, which truly sets this place apart. Wakame is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Canada, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. If you’re looking for a genuinely great Japanese dining experience, I can’t recommend Wakame enough.

For years,we have enjoyed Wakame Sushi. Unfortunately, today, we ordered our usual-Green Dragon, California roll and all of these dishes were overflowing with red “fish “eggs. The eggs were never ever included in those particular dishes in the past and they definitely detracted from the flavors that we so loved also afterwards, I had a fishy taste in my mouth. Very disappointed.

“pick up salmon love boat 30 pieces” customers.
Now it’s gonna be 12 years.But for the last year i noticed that the slices a half thick. You can barely see the order, not ever be happily full with it.
I thought it was just one time, then i thought maybe they changed the sushi chef.
Now i still want to order sashimi but i don’t want to pay the same price for half a fish order.
If I call they don’t understand English and will not get my point.
I think the weight of the order is more important than number of pieces.
Should I address the manager to take care of my order or should I give up and change the place? Though we live close by and it’s been convenient for years so far.
I am planning to give an order tomorrow but I don’t want to be disappointed again.

Regrettably, once again, this restaurant fails to assemble & deliver a COMPLETE order. Usually it’s been little things that one can let go… But not today. Missing HALF of the order on a New Year’s Eve is more than upsetting, especially when you try to do a surprise delivery for an elder person, who is on their own. Instead of a pleasant surprise, it turned into a headache with trading photos, figuring out whats missing, contacting UberEats etc. etc. On a plus, the food is usually good, IF you are lucky enough to actually receive what you paid for.

My partner and I love coming to eat here. We’ve been coming since moving into the area 3 years ago. The owner, Kevin is always so attentive and cares a lot about his clients. The food is tasty and always fresh. Read the other reviews and I’ve personally never experienced anything negative. It’s always been a great experience.
