I absolutely love this little pub! The downstairs area is cozy and just feels right. The menu is not that big, but what they have is fantastic! The beer? If you like German beer this is a must! If this place were in Taylors, I would go several times a week. I had the spaitzel and my wife had the brat plate. Loved them both. They do have a larger upstairs but the charm is in the downstairs. This is a must go off you like German food and beer!

First time visiting Castle Cellar Pub at Unterhausen in downtown Simpsonville and I was seriously impressed. The atmosphere is warm and cozy with exposed brick, wood beams, and that authentic old-world German pub feel. It’s the kind of place you can settle into and relax.
The beer selection is outstanding. Tons of German imports on tap plus a great variety of craft options. I had a dark Belgian (St. Bernardus) and it was perfect. Fresh, smooth, and served in proper glassware. The soft pretzels were fresh and a great pairing.
The menu has solid German classics like bratwurst, spaetzle, sauerkraut, and hot potato salad, along with sandwiches and small plates. You can tell they care about quality and presentation.
Service was friendly and welcoming, especially for a first visit. Great vibe, great drinks, and a unique spot for Simpsonville. I’ll definitely be back. Jack the drink tender is excellent!

Great little place with awesome German food & beverages. Strongly recommend, but seating is limited so plan accordingly (they had chairs on the sidewalk to wait comfortably).

Very fun place. It has the original brick and you can see two places where the city had underground tunnels. I got the charcuterie board with turkey pastrami, German Swiss and goat cheese. It was good!

A delightful experience every time.
The atmosphere is amazing. Unterhausen has a beautiful cellar with friendly bartenders who are great at what they do. The selection of drinks is quite large for such a small location. I particularly love the German food served here, and have enjoyed every item on the menu. The pickled red cabbage served as a side with several dishes is one of my top 10 foods.
A frequented place by me and my friends.

After all the growth in Downtown Simpsonville, Unterhausen still reigns supreme as our favorite S’ville spot to meet with friends or have a date night. Wade the owner is always a pleasure to talk to, the bartenders know their stuff and the kitchen crushes it every time. Be sure to make reservations a day in advance if possible as this cozy atmosphere fills up quickly.
