Best fried flounder I have eaten in a long time. Not greasy, cooked to perfection and meaty, not skimpy. Fries and tea very good too. Slaw and hush puppies okay, have tasted better. Waitress and other employees friendly and helpful, even assisting with opening the door. Will definitely go back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at [The fish house] and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As a seafood enthusiast, I’ve visited many restaurants, but this one truly stands out. This a very casual no frills place. It’s a former Italian restaurant. It was not busy when we arrived at 3 in the afternoon. Server was clearly new and inexperienced. Can’t say this enough prices were high. I do understand inflation, but this is far from fine dining and we paid fine dining prices for 2 people.
Food was hot and fresh, our entree orders did not arrive at the same time. The server brought things out 1 at a time. Portions were generous. We had the calamari as our appetizer. It was tender and seasoned, just disappointed there were no tentacles only the sliced rings.I had a combination plate with fish,shrimp,hush puppies,fries and salad. My husband had the steak with baked potato, broccoli, and salad. My husband asked for medium well, no seasoning. The broccoli was charred giving it a great flavor. It would be nice to have a couple more vegetable options.The steak arrived well done and was still seasoned. My guess is the flat top grill had residual seasoning on it from previously cooked foods. Overall it was the details that brought down the rating. They also do not offer malt vinegar for the fish and fries, they really should. I also had coconut cake to go, a large slice. Our bill was $80÷, in my opinion high for what we had and where it’s located. We wanted to give it a go, we did. But at this point do not think that we will return.

Everything about this place was great! The service was amazing, and the owner was welcoming constructive criticism. Best prices for seafood I’ve seen in a long time. $35 for a seafood boil, you can’t beat that.

Very quiet place, we seemed loud as we laughed and even just talked. Kinda cool in there, I kept my jacket on the whole time. Food was good, service was good, she checked on us repeatedly. Some of the prices were better than what we saw online, so that was a plus. Its good to see a place in Shelby with these seafood options.

Fish was cooked perfectly & very generous portions. Some of the best fish I’ve ever eaten. Most fish places the fish is very greasy not this place! The staff is so nice & friendly I asked for extra cocktail & tater sauces no problem they gave it right to me. Their slaw is so good there was nothing I didn’t like. I will go back & if you haven’t tried them you are miss out run to try them.

This is no juicy crab the seasoning on my boil was very very salty to the point I almost could not eat it the quality of the crab legs and shrimp looked of that of walmart brand it was cooked well but just not as good as juicy crab they have alot fatter shrimp and better flavor profile but for a quick fix I guess this spot was not terrible I also found a noodle in my crab boil idk how that got in there the waitress played dumb and our wings we ordered as an appetizer they came out with the main dish …..no manager to address any of the issues nor did they offer any assistance so I would say I gave it just an ok rating but I rather make the drive to get something I have ate for years thats consistent and always good sorry guys it was a good try .
