The first time I tried the truffle mushroom slices which I found to be quite dry and lacking that distinct truffle flavor. The second time I had a truffle mushroom and a margherita slice but I still was not impressed. Also, the conveyor belt heating does not allow enough time to reheat the pizza slices thoroughly.
On the plus side, this is a cozy restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, reasonable prices and friendly staff. I will probably give them another shot by trying a different menu item next time.
I will definitely be returning!
One of my favorite aspects of Wiseguy is that you can order by the slice. If you’re a fan of variety, you can pick and choose what looks good without committing to a full pie. I ordered a mix of slices, and at just over $5 each, I felt it was a great deal. Plus, they offer small ramekins to sample their sauces and dressings, or you can buy a whole bottle if you really enjoy one.
Delivery was quick, too, which was convenient since they’re only about 2 miles away. The pizza arrives already made, and I think they reheat it, so I reheated mine again at home–375°F for 5 minutes, and it turned out nice and crispy.
I tried a variety of options and had a few favorites. The Grandma’s slice stood out; it was thick, with a fantastic sauce, and for cheese lovers, I’d recommend ordering extra. The New York-style sauce was flavorful, and the cheese was spot on. Their Buffalo and ranch sauces were also highlights–the Buffalo was flavorful without being overly spicy, and the ranch was perfectly seasoned.
As for some of the other items: the mushroom truffle slice fell short, lacking mushrooms and overall flavor. On the sweet side, I ordered three chocolate chip cookies, which were nicely sized and soft. One would be enough to split if you’re looking for something light.
To top it off, the team added a generous touch–I only ordered two sides of Caesar dressing, but they hooked me up with two Caesar salads. It’s clear Wiseguy values customer satisfaction and takes extra care with orders and requests, which I appreciate.
All in all, I’ll definitely order from Wiseguy Pizza again. They have a unique range, and it’s perfect if you’re just in the mood for a slice or two. Keep up the great work and the accurate orders!
I added some photos of my delivery also. I’ll post updates in my future order(s).
The crust: crispy, with great chew and a rich flavor.
The sauce: They cook down some great tomato sauce. It’s tomato-y, but lacks the balance of flavors. I added garlic powder and was really happy.
The toppings: I had the meat pizza. The ham was chopped small. The meat flavor was awesome. I really liked the pepperoni. However, I don’t really like hot spices in my pepperoni. If you like some heat, you might want to add pepper flakes.
The cheese: The cheese was good. Period. Not exceptional.
Cost: The price was reasonable for me, but I’m used to Seattle prices. We got 3 slices and 2 fountain drinks for $26.
Ratings: I was concerned because of all the generic 5-star reviews. Generally, this means that a shop exchanged something for 5-star reviews. While we were there, the cashier asked if we were on their list of “Yelp Elite Week” that we’re able to buy one get one free.
As a west-coaster, I really wanted some good east-coast pizza. I would go here again if I was in the area.
