Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Pittsfield, New Hampshire, Over the Moon Farmstead offers a unique dining experience that blends rustic charm with culinary sophistication. Situated on a historic farmstead established in 1753, the restaurant is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic mountain views, which earned it the Best in Boston and New England for Scenic View award from OpenTable Diners’ Choice in 2023.
Over the Moon Farmstead is a celebration of farm-to-table dining, with a menu crafted by Executive Chef Alistair Tenters.
Reservations are recommended for the Main Dining room, which offers table service. Our BarN (taproom) is more casual, counter service, first come first served.

I’ve been a long time customer and patron to the beautiful over the moon farmstead. Every detail from the food, plating, greeting at the door, smiles from Lindsey, servers like Fiona, chefs like Allister, mixologists like Adam and the wonderful taproom girls Lola and Trish consistently have warm greetings and make it feel like a dear friend is getting you a drink from their bar. I’ve brought many friends to visit, have the delish pizzas and phenomenal craft brews. I’m grateful to know the folks who own and pour their soul into feeding yours. Well worth the jaunt off the beaten path! The view never disappoints and everything else follows the same tone. Please consider enjoying your next meal here and bring your friends!

Would give 10 stars if I could! Great find in Pittsfield. We got dinner in the restaurant section. Started off with the lemonade cocktail which was super refreshing. Switched the sparkling mead after, honestly so delicious, would recommend. We got the charcuterie board and the candied almonds. They really went all out with the charcuterie board: it was beautiful, lots of veggies, cheeses and meats. The veggies were pickled and had a great flavor. Everything on the board was really unique like maple cheese 10/10. I could not stop eating the almonds we took these home since we had a bunch left. I got the scallops for my main course. Cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The plate was so pretty, came with asparagus and a sweet potato hash that had bacon in it. I was speechless when eating this it was genuinely amazing. I was so full but kept eating everything it was delicious and clearly fresh and made with care. The hostess was so kind and told us the history of the restaurant. They have great views up on the hill during the day. We wandered over to the barn after dinner and saw some local live music, bought a bottle of the mead we tried inside, and a sticker. This place is slept on!! Spread the word. New favorite restaurant in New Hampshire.

This is a review for the bar space not the restaurant. We were greeted promptly and directed to the bar as we wanted a more casual vibe for an early afternoon lunch. The bar area was maybe a third full, if that. The biggest complaint was that the two bartenders were not friendly and acted as if we were inconveniencing them every time we went up to the bar. When I asked to take a menu or two back to our table, when I asked about the size of the pizza (definitely not the 16 inches she said), when I put the order in, and when I asked to close out. Total lack of attention and respect or even a smile. It’s basically counter service so where’s the hospitality portion if you’re asking for a set tip on expensive foods. They did try to clear our table three times, even though plenty of seating was still available. One time by sliding the pizza peels and knocking off food debris onto the table. A young man attempted to clear plates later when we hadn’t finished the poutine.
The space was very nice and the food and beer were fine. I guess the $62 we paid for (without tip) for a pizza, appetizer and two beers was for the views. Seemed far too expensive for a 12 inch floppy oily pizza and rude service.
The host of the restaurant was lovely and if it’s any indication of the restaurant then it might be better than the bar. The parking lot was large and the farm-stand across the street was nice.

Made a dinner reservation at Over The Moon Farmstead in Pittsfield, NH. I wish we had gone during the day — I’ve heard the views are stunning. We walked in through the taproom, where there was some live music playing, & were greeted by a wonderful hostess who sat us right away. We started with a massive charcuterie board, & for the entrée we had the wagyu osso buco with mashed potatoes & hot honey–glazed carrots. Such a comforting, elevated meal in a really cool space.

A friend and I came to celebrate my birthday, and it was amazing! We had the poutine and whipped ricotta appetizers. I could have eaten a bucket of the whipped ricotta! We split two pizzas – the blueberry maple bacon and the figgy little piggy, both incredible. Really perfect and unexpected flavors. For dessert, we couldn’t decide, so we tried the pina colada and strawberry mango ice creams – both very fresh and fruity! And the lemon ricotta cheesecake with blueberry was incredible. We will definitely be back!
Oh, and make sure to meet Barley the dog!

We walked in to a clean, beautiful country style entryway. The vibe is very laid back and the view is absolutely fabulous. I was impressed by the menu,it has non standard interesting items. The espresso martinis were perfectly blended with house brewed at the bar espresso. We chose a blended pistachio ricotta with bread points, couldn’t take a pic because I dove in like a hungry animal. For our entrees we had osso buco and scallops with sweet potato hash… YUM! To finish I slowed down enough to take a picture of the apple crisp. These portions are absolutely huge for price, I am happily taking home half of my meal. Make a trip here, enjoy the relaxing experience and amazing food.

Went for a date night on 10/03 and sat on the back deck with a view of the mountains. It was beautiful and between ordering and getting the food I’d say it was about a half an hour. I ordered the bolognese and my partner got the steak frites I believe. Both were good. Would recommend!

Have been before for the brewery but went for brunch the first time and the drinks and food were so so good. One of the best bloody Mary’s. Went with a group of 4 and everyone loved the food and drinks. I got the chicken and waffles and the fried onions were a nice touch. There is a great outdoor area in summer with amazing views. Highly recommend trying the mead if you’ve never had mead before, but the beer is really good too.
