My first visit here! I love Italian deli’s and “hole-in-the-wall” type places. This spot did not disappoint. My family owns the Chicago Style Beef & Dogs in Lakewood, CO and one of my favorite sandwiches is a wet Italian beef. Unfortunately it wasn’t Friday so I wasn’t able to order that here, but the kind woman at the counter recommended I try the mild Italian sausage sandwich. It tasted fantastic and is a safe choice for anyone new. I couldn’t even really complain about the atmosphere. My main concern is that it seems like they’re quite popular but the space itself is too small to accommodate the lunch rush patrons who may want to eat inside.

Absolutely a must stop for sandwiches! You can only eat half so come hungry or share. A new favorite stop up north.

My daughter and son live in North KC and wanted to take me to one of their favorite places. It did not disappoint! Not only did they have fresh food, sandwiches, drinks, etc. They have authentic Italian food/groceries for purchase. I like how the back room looks like someone’s living room. Quick service, food was great, plenty of choices… Would definitely recommend.

Not your average sandwich shop.
Sandwiches are bigger than your hand. So big one can hardly fit it into their mouth! Delicious, quality Italian deli.
Additionally their Italian sausage is great quality.
Great spot to visit and enjoy some great food.

Hidden gem. Absolutely immaculate Vodka Chicken Parm sandwich. The sandwich was huge and all the ingredients tasted great. Very unassuming restaurant but don’t be fooled, top tier quality.

Some of the sandwiches at The Italian Sausage Company remind me of LaSalle’s that used to be in Columbus Park. They’re big enough to feed multiple people and they are excellent. I’ve never left hungry or without part of a sandwich to eat later. The hot sandwiches and cold sandwiches are both great. I appreciate that they expanded their restaurant to add seating inside. When they opened, it was a bit cramped inside with most of the seating outside at the picnic tables.

I don’t eat here often because I sometimes forget they’re here, which is a shame because this is one of the best sandwich shops in KC hands down. I’ve had the spicy Italian sausage sandwich and the meatball sandwich from here and both were phenomenal. The bread is nice and soft with a little bit of crunch on the outside. The homemade Italian sausage is unbelievably good. My only critique of the meatball sandwich is that I would rather have 4 meatballs that are half the size each of the 2 giant meatballs they put in the sandwich. The meatballs are very good so the size is just personal preference.

My husband has been waiting to try this place for quite a while. We were in Gladstone so we stopped in. It has the right “smell” of a NJ/NY Italian deli. My husband had the #7. I had a bite of his before I started eating and wished I hadn’t. He added the spicy gardinere. It was delicious! The bread was great and had the right amount of dressing and seasoning. I had the caprese. I was disappointed. Light on the mozzarella and the bread wasn’t nearly as good as my husbands. Limited side options and only canned drinks. We will be back, I’ll just chose a different sandwich. I wish they were open on Sundays so we could get a whole #7 for Chiefs games. It will most definitely feed 4!!

Stopped in after hearing good things in a Facebook foodies group. I tried the #8 which is a pastrami and turkey Reuben on marbled rye. It was amazing. The pastrami was some of the best I’ve found in KC. I will say that for the price I wish they had piled it a little higher though. Nevertheless, it was an excellent sandwich and I can’t wait to try more of what they have to offer.
