The high Google rating for Smashed Burger drew me in, and while I am giving them high marks, I think I should manage expectations up front..
This burger joint is tucked away on one end of a neighborhood bar in the west end of Davenport.. I wasn’t even sure I was in the right place initially until I walked around the front and found their sign..
That said, if you are a young couple and have kids in tow, you might want to consider takeout, but then you’ll probably be risking the food quality depending on how far you will travel with it as carryout is in standard foam, hinged containers..
Okay.. The food.. I ordered a bacon cheddar burger with lettuce and a side of mayo.. I ordered their mac & cheese as a side..
The burger was generally good.. No complaints.. The best burger I’ve ever had, like others here, have proclaimed?? Nope.. But a solid offering, particularly if you are combining it with any of the libations from the bar.. The mayo was offered in packets.. There were no concerns there, and it wasn’t bad, even though it was a brand I hadn’t tried previously..
The mac & cheese was respectable.. Creamy, laced with bits of jalapeños, and quite tasty..
Overall, I’m not disappointed in my choice of venues for the night.. Would I return?? Probably not.. The food, while generally good, just didn’t rock my world enough for me to want it and the bar scene again..
The service was great, so there are no issues there either.. And there are plenty of other burgers and side options for a diner who doesn’t mind the bar-scene atmosphere..
All in all, I want to wish them wild success with their concept..

Had the Mac N Cheeseburger with Chips and it was great! The Mac n Cheese had Jalapeño in it and it gave the burger good flavor. It wasn’t very spicy either. I loved the home made chips as well. We also got an appetizer of breaded mushrooms. Would recommend!

the burgers are amazing, and the owners are nice. However, they “supposedly” close at 10 and stop taking orders at 9:30 but shut their phones off an hour before. I’ve been trying to order burgers for the past month, but my boyfriend doesn’t get home from work until late, so we have to order a little later, yet their never picking up their phone. It’s not like I’m calling at 9:59 and placing an order, I’m giving plenty of time, yet I can’t even get my call to go through. I know I have the right number because when I call at 5 to place an order they pick up.

I defy you to find a better burger in town. Can’t give enough stars for such great food and prices! We decided to try a few things from the menu being it our 1st trip. We didn’t get past the burgers, they were so well proportioned we were stuffed. We did order 4 entres, 1 side, and 1 appetizer. The other 2 entres are for later. My husband wanted to have a midnight snack. Those were the pulled pork, which he ordered the coleslaw on side since he’ll be re-heating 1st. The cheese french fries could have been cooked longer but I’m guessing with fries with 4 entres plus those, the fryer was going non stop. Husband had the Mac n cheese, which I warned him had jalapeños in them. After eating some, he did say as I expected, better to leave the jalapeños out. But I think that’s a personal opinion and he knew beforehand what he was getting. It should be listed they’re in it on the menu though if they’re not. All of this food only cost $50. You cannot beat these prices for this good of food. We will continue to get our favorite burgers and selectively choose items we haven’t tried to see what they’re like. A new after work stop to eat for sure!

The Enchiladas are the BEST. Finally found some Enchiladas that could stand by themselves and did not need to be drowned in sauce to cover the taste. These people get it. Great food at reasonable prices.

We tried a new place, Smashed Burgers! I don’t typically order burgers from restaurants, but this was the best burger my husband and I have ever had! I got the Burger of the Week: Spicy Curd Burger and he got The Westender.
