Come support and enjoy a true mom and pop place, nothing fancy ascetic wise, but the food is excellent. We had 6 rolls, hot sake and the fried cheesecake. Every roll was so perfectly balanced and fresh and beautifully displayed. A few pieces fell apart but it was busy. I think the dragon might be a favorite but they were all good. Kid friendly. The owners were super nice and welcoming.

Interesting restaurant. It appeared to be a daycare/Japanese Restaurant all in one.
Food was not bad. Nothing special imho. I had the pork Katsu & my wife had the crunch roll. It was pretty awesome presentation. She also had pork gyosa for an appetizer which were in my opinion the best thing we ate. Also fried cheesecake for dessert which also was very good. All in all, I would rate the experience a 3-1/2 out of 5 possible star rating

The food was ok. The best thing we got was the onion soup is was sooooo good! I asked for spicy salmon sushi it looked really good but had no taste. Was not spicy at all. They brought out one dish at a time which was a bit annoying. There is not enough people working there they need to hire more people. It looks like it’s also a daycare which is pretty distracting. It took forever to get the check and then we sat for 20 mins waiting for our credit card to be returned and we ended up getting up and the waitress was suprised she thought we left … hire more people. How many times can one person apologize, stop apologizing … the fried banana was given to us for our extremely long wait time to order and to receive the food.

I visited this Japanese bistro with my daughter for lunch on a Saturday, shortly after Valentine’s Day. Even early in the afternoon, there were already a few customers, which speaks to the restaurant’s appeal.

As a family-owned business, the atmosphere felt inviting. While service took a bit longer than expected, I appreciated that everything was being prepared fresh, with one person handling the cooking. The food portion was generous and delicious.

One thing to note is that the owners’ children were present, which added to the homey feel of the place. They were roller-skating around the tables for a while, which, while playful, did become a bit distracting (lasted about 15 mind). A shorter playtime might be more considerate for dining patrons.

Overall, the quality of the food was great, and I’d love to try it again—perhaps as a takeout option next time for a quicker experience.

Ordered:
– 1 Shrimp Hibachi
– 1 Salmon Hibachi

I haven’t explored a lot of the menu, but the Chicken Fried Rice is absolutely excellent, probably the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend asking for Yummy sauce on it! The complimentary starters they bring you, such as miso soup and onion soup, are also very delicious and flavorful. Very clean atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great family owned restaurant in Winona. Nice small place right in downtown and super friendly family. Reasonable prices, delicious rolls and Sushi. Hibachi chicken was a bit salty for our tastebuds, but again just one meal. We have eaten here twice now, so happy to give them a positive review.

Just went to Miya for the first time tonight and it lived up to the hype!!!

The owners appear to run and operate this place and it they put out a great product! The pork gyosa is amazing, the chicken hibachi is delicious as well, for someone who really doesn’t like sushi! Loved these items though!!

My wife loved her spicy tuna and the Boston roll!

Give this place a try here in Winona, MN!

Delicious food! Went during lunch on a Tuesday. Very well presented. Very clean restaurant which is key for me! Good natural light by the big windows. Great view of the rustic city street and buildings. Great location. Plenty of parking on the street. Cozy. Well decorated. Only thing is I didn’t like the music. Haha. Was expecting some classic Japanese instruments music to zone in to the experience but they had local oldies on. It’s all good. 5/5 for me! The servers were very friendly and very attentive. You can tell that they take pride in the business.
