This deli is definitely a favorite place for the local community. We are new to the area and wanted to start trying local cafes and restaurants. The deli was packed on Saturday morning. Obviously many people knew each other and the deli staff. Our breakfast was well prepared and abundant. Took awhile for someone to take our order; but the place was completely full. Good food, good portions, good prices, friendly staff. 25Jan2026 — it’s been a couple of years since we started coming here and it’s always been a good experience. The owners and staff are really nice people.

Think you know the PB? Who is Mrs. Fish? What is the 222? Who is the only waitress with a small tattoo of the restaurant logo on her arm? What year was the photograph at the register with Gus in his prime taken? Why do they never have size XL black t-shirts in stock?

Delicious low scale breakfast dinner/cafe. Got the pancake special with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon slices for less than $9; pancakes were quite large and fluffy, eggs were nicely fried, and bacon could’ve been a tad crispier.

Scholars have long studied the mysteries of what makes a good breakfast. Well search no more because Pickle Barrel Deli is home to the most scrumptious eggs Benedict on this side of the Charles river.

This was my grandparents favorite breakfast place and it’s mine as well. It’s one of the few original spots that remain from the old Worcester. It’s family friendly spot that cooks with heart.

The Pickle Barrel “owns” lower Pleasant St. There’s a reason there’s not another breakfast/lunch locale for blocks! Opened in 1974 and still the premiere location destination for the area and surrounding neighborhoods! Don’t miss out!

Stopped by on a Saturday for a quick lunch before going to the art museum. Had a couple delicious gyros. Service was great. Nice energetic atmosphere.

I had lunch at The Pickle Barrel recently, and it was such a great experience! From the moment I walked in, the waitstaff made me feel genuinely welcome. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.
The food was delicious — fresh, flavorful, and served hot. You can really tell they care about the quality of what they’re putting on the table. I tried one of their sandwiches and it hit the spot, and the side pickle (of course!) was a nice touch.
On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. It’s the kind of place where you leave full, happy, and without feeling like you overpaid.
I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back lunch spot with great food and even better service.
5/5 stars!
