Best Que we’ve ever had. The rack of ribs is exceptional! The sauce and iced tea were also exceptional. We are fans.

This place is in a town near the family cabin and I have wanted to try it several times. The rest of the family doesn’t really like BBQ so we never go there. I popped in to grab a half rack of ribs to go thinking I’d have a couple on the way to the cabin. I waited about 25 minutes and had a beer. When I got to the truck I opened the foil to find a decent size half rack that was a grayish color wrapped in plastic wrap. Not really what I would expect from a place that claims to “smoke” ribs. I figured I would try it. Nope. They were like rubber, not cooked enough and they seemed to be either microwaved or pressure cooked (but not tender). No smoke ring, no bark, with a hint of liquid smoke. I was extremely disappointed and glad I didn’t convince the family to come here. I’m going to try and slow cook them a bit more to see if I can salvage anything. If they can’t do ribs, the rest must be really bad. After reading reviews, I see several that have had the same experience as me. The ones that had a good ribs must have been before the current owner or they just don’t know what’s good. That was terrible.

Edit- Slow cooking them for a couple more hours did nothing. The only color you see is the BBQ sauce they provided. Right in the trash.

Friday night around 7pm. Found a good parking spot and walked right in and sat ourselves. The place was full so the timing was great. There are booths, tables in the open, bar seating and a long communal high-top table. Our server was attentive and we were well looked after. I thought the drink selection was great and my glass didn’t run dry once. Considering the volume of patrons they were serving, our wait time seemed acceptable to me. We had the Brisket Tacos, Ribs and Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Good stuff!! I enjoyed both the Regular & the Spicy Piggy Sauce that they offer and the house chips were really tasty as well. To switch it up, next visit I am going to sit at the bar and order more sides and some apps too! @devinejd

My family discovered this place several years ago, and whenever we make it back up here, this restaurant is always on our list of places to stop.

The interior isn’t very large. There are essentially two small rooms with some tables in each area. They also have a small gift shop.

Usually, we eat outside because they probably have about as much seating there as inside. But it was a rainy day, so we went inside.

I like to get the burnt ends. They are tender and just a tad fatty, which just adds to the flavor. And this time, they still had them available. It seems like they often run out, in which case I order the brisket. Unfortunately for my son, this time they were out of ribs, and it wasn’t even 5:00. He ordered the burnt ends, too.

The BBQ sauce is some of our favorite, and the meals include BBQ chips which you can dip in the sauce. What a treat!

We also like the coleslaw, which is super creamy. A couple people ordered the mashed potatoes this time and said they tasted really good. However, most everyone seems to order the cornbread, either as the side that comes with meal or as an extra side. It’s the best deal to order as an extra side because it’s the cheapest side, but if you want honey, they charge an extra $1 for a small cup of it, which does seem ridiculous.

Besides the regular BBQ sauce, they also have a spicy version. I like it, too, but I prefer the regular variety. If you do enjoy their sauce, you can grab some bottles on your way out in the gift shop along with a bag of those potato chips.

Parking can be a pain since it’s primarily limited to street parking, although there are some lots a couple blocks away toward the lake. All parking is free.

I highly recommend this place. And if you have a larger party, you may want to call for a reservation. If you go late, be prepared that some items may be sold out for the day, but that just means you have a reason to come back.

First time here, and we will be back. The southwestern salad with fruit salsa and pulled pork was so good! The corn bread with honey was amazing. Brisket was slightly dry. The sauce on the table helped. Service was wonderful. We visited on a weekday.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch. We had the pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese and potato salad. We also had the pickle medley and cornbread. The meats had good flavor but were pretty dry. Their bbq sauce however is delicious and saves the sandwiches. The pickles helped as well. The stars though were the Mac and cheese, the potato salad and the cornbread. They were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The cornbread is more of a cornbread pudding, it’s very dense but sweet and addictive. If you’re in the area and like BBQ, give this place a try.

**Update… went back again and pretty much the same experience. The meats are bit dry but the sauce is great. Mac and cheese, potato salad and cornbread are still the stars!

Both my wife and I ordered the smoked chicken. It was outstanding! They were out of potatoes, so I can’t comment on that. The portion size was a bit small considering the pice tag, but I walked away satisfied and not over stuffed.

Had the sampler meal. Really good mac and cheese, kettle chips and pulled pork. The portion of four ribs I was served, had a lot of fat and the lemonade was a bit tart. Overall, I did like the restaurant and I do recommend it for BBQ lovers. Again, the kettle chips and mac/cheese are surprisingly very good and I LOVE their regular BBQ sauce. I did not try the spicy sauce, but the regular sauce has a nice touch of sweetness to it. The meal cost $37 base price.

I have been in rib contests for 30 years these were quite possibly the worst ribs I’ve ever had. Absolutely no flavor thier not smoked and no smoke rings at all. Ribs don’t come wrapped in saran wrap I have no clue how your cooking them . Attached are your ribs and mine.
