This was my 1st visit in years and it is now under new ownership. The view is absolutely beautiful with windows facing the river as I suppose the reason for the namesake. I must say the quality has really upgraded and you won’t go away hungry! I would have given it a 5 star except one of the things that irk me is being comfortable. Do bring a sweater or light jacket if you are not able to get a seat near the gas fireplaces. The decor could also need some updating and warm/inviting touches but I’m sure that will come in time so there’s room for improvement there yet.
We both had the breakfast special which consisted of stuffed french toast covered in huckleberry sauce, hashbrowns/country potatoes, bacon, and eggs. The french toast was to die for so don’t miss getting this when it’s available as it’s not on the regular menu. You get 5 strips of bacon too! Everything was cooked perfectly. We typically like things a little more crispy overall but was still not disappointed in the consistent way it was cooked despite.
There is also a louge/bar attached on the other side of the restaurant so you can make it a one stop date night! If you’ve never been before give it a try, if it’s been a while…revisit.

I searched “restaurants with a view” and it did not disappoint. Delicious meal. We had stuffed bell pepper soup and salad, the steak with shrimp in wine sauce, and homemade Dutch apple pie. Very pleasant waitress. Business was slow (it was a Thursday though) and restaurant food is deserving of being a busy establishment. It is under new management which sounds like some good positive improvements will happen internally.

The eggs come to your table exactly the way you ordered them. The waitress who brings them gives plenty of coffee and smiles. You are seated far from other customers and the restaurant is clean. These are just some of the good reasons to eat here. The view is terrific too.

Under new ownership. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and they have a fantastic view of the river from the dining room. Has a cozy little dive bar attached. The staff is fun and friendly, the biscuits and gravy are delicious and I have never tasted a better pecan pie.

Just had dinner here. It was simply wonderful. I really liked the interior of the resturant, it reminded me of my grandparents cabin. Very clean and neat. Staff was very friendly and were quick to help. The food was very good and did not cost too much either about $14 per person. Portion sizes are generous and you will never leave here with an empty stomach! If you are looking for a nice place to grab some food on your trip I recommend stopping here! Beautiful views of the river as well!

Surprisingly good food with a gorgeous view! The steak was tender and cooked correctly and the prawns were tasty. They accommodated my odd order with no problem and did well with an allergy. Only concern was the sauces might have had the allergen in it. Just be very clear about checking everything for an allergy and they should do well.

Even for new waitress, wasn’t very attentive to our table. The food didn’t taste good at all. Best thing about it was the fries … Our steaks looked like they were boiled and tasted rubbery. Was very disappointed especially since too my parents there for the first time, and they aren’t from around here and wanted a nice dinner…but that didn’t happen.

We have eaten here twice. The dining room is tasteful, comfortable and enhances the meal. The staff is always top notch with great service and friendly greetings. The menu is full of hearty choices with reasonable prices. The food is always delectable!! I would recommend them with the highest level of confidence that you will have a great meal and pleasant dining experience!!
