I am incredibly disappointed with my recent experience at Spring Garden. As a certified chef, I have high standards for food quality and safety, and unfortunately, this meal failed on every level.
We ordered the Chicken Fried Rice, and I specifically requested extra onions in mine. The quality of the ingredients was unacceptable:
• The Rice: It was hard, clumpy, and had the distinct texture of old, poorly stored rice rather than being fresh and fluffy.
• The Onions: The onions had a foul, spoiled taste that ruined the entire dish.
Most concerningly, I ended up in the Emergency Room later that night due to food-related illness. Serving old rice and spoiled produce is a major health violation. I know exactly how fresh food should be handled and prepared, and it is clear that proper standards were not met here.
I strongly advise others to be cautious before eating at this establishment. I will be eating there again.

Egg drop soup & the dumplings was good but my other food like the sesame chicken/ vegetable lo mein/ chicken wings & fries were disappointing/ lacking flavor. The price of the food is WAY too high expensive!!!! I don’t recommend this place! 2/10.

Great portion size. Rice and chicken was great tasting. Chicken could have been a lot more spicy as I was expecting such but still much better than others I’ve tried in the area. They were very quick too.

Quick take out. I’ve tried the Scallion Chicken lunch special, steamed dumplings, and hot and sour soup. I really like the dumplings and hot and sour soup is pretty good too. Definitely cooked by legit Asian men. Although when you call they just take your order, don’t ask for your name or number, and just hang up, but they definitely will have it ready when you come to pick it up.

I’ve ordered from China Garden several times. I never know what I’m going to get. Most of the time its good. There are time my food wasn’t the sake as I’ve gotten other time I’m not sure why I know its hard to check your food until you eat it. I wish I’d knew what to expect. Do your best if you order to make sure your food is cooked right

Food is ok. Service not so much. They try to charge different prices then what is on the menu. When you correct them they get a nasty attitude or pretend like they didn’t understand yet they understand totally when it comes to money. They are super friendly and smiley to certain guest regardless of how said guest treat or talk to them but others….. Well you can be nice, patient and professional and they will try to be disrespectful or out right ignore you. This isn’t just a 1 off experience with this restaurant. It happens almost every time I go there and there is never a reason for the behavior. So I can only deduce that there is an issue w me, though I see the same behavior from them with other people as well. Maybe bc I call them out on their behavior nicely… Either way it’s my last time eating from them disrespectful is to easy to come by for free so there is no need to pay for it in the name of eating some hit or miss maybe fresh maybe not so fresh under or over cooked Chinese food. For anyone interested and don’t mind the ride panda panda in Lexington is a far superior Chinese restaurant that is half the price with 2x as much food. Always pleasant and when there is an error, guess what? They are happy to correct it bc they understand that it is just business – nothing personal!

Not a place I like. The food is more miss than hit. I called to order the Lobster Fried Rice, which is on their paper menu, only to be told its not on the menu. If you look at another reviewer who posted the menu, it’s right there at the bottom of the fried rice list.
So I ordered the Chicken with Chinese Vegetables, it was the most bland flavorless, slimy chicken. I wouldn’t serve it to my dog let alone a fellow human who paid for it.
