Food: Easily the worst dining experience I’ve had in Zanzibar. The dishes were bland, poorly cooked, and tasted stale — as if they had been sitting around for hours. Even the basics lacked flavor and freshness.

Service: Staff were inattentive and unprofessional. Orders arrived late, and requests were ignored until repeated multiple times. There was no courtesy or effort to make guests feel welcome.

Ambience: The place felt neglected — tables sticky, chairs uncomfortable, and overall hygiene questionable. The atmosphere was far from inviting, making it hard to enjoy the meal.

Overall: Krishna Food House failed on every front: food, service, and ambience. Definitely not worth the time or money.

Very good Indian food. The portion sizes are large and the prices are very reasonable. So you definitely get the most out of your money.
The restaurant itself is not extremely beautiful but since the food was really good I would 100% recommend the restaurant and would go there again myself.

The Indian food here was decent. I had ordered veg pilaf and dahi wada. The veg pilaf was not too spicy and to an extent tasted a bit blant. Apart from that, the dahi wada was good and the combination of the two items made the veg pilaf more palatable. The overall experience from this restaurant was good and the prices of the dishes were very reasonable. If you are looking mostly vegetarian options in and around stone town, you can consider visiting this place.

Tasty vegetarian Indian food, reasonable prices, quite large portions. Service could be more friendly and English could be better (but we are quite new to Indian food so we had many questions – maybe this was a bit exhausting for our waiter).

Nevertheless, we would come back because of the great taste and value for money.

Krishna Veg is hands down one of the best places to eat in Zanzibar if you’re craving delicious and authentic Indian vegetarian/ or Vegan food. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced – just like home!
The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was quick despite the place being busy.

This is pure vegetarian with access to simple homemade lunch a tourist can experience. Lunch served in a simple Indian home
– This is Krishna Food Houses’ concept.

Food and Taste:
We ordered the samosa, spring roll, paratha, masala papad and veg Kadai vegetables.
The starters were really good but the sides of pumpkin purée was okay.
The kulcha roti and Aalu paratha were okay, can be a lot better. We did not enjoy the curry, it lacked some flavour and richness.

Thali is a power packed meal to get a taste of appetisers to dessert, this can be a lot of food and one that can make you feel extra full if this is your first time.

Service – The owner and waiter were courteous and the service is quick.

If you want a flavour of better Indian food, Zanzibar does have few more in store 😉
This is economical, cash/card is accepted and access to washrooms.

I was really missing home food and came here with no expectations. This place blew me away!! It was absolutely incredible from an Indian living in London I can honestly say this was like home food. It was gorgeous and not oily at all!!
