I’ve had multiple cheese steaks from Troy’s in the past, which I really enjoy as a weekend treat when a craving hits. I stopped in again recently on a Saturday around noon. I noticed only one customer in the restaurant sitting quietly awaiting their take-out order so I walked up to the counter while awaiting service. Unfortunately that service never came. I stood quietly for about 7 minutes before eventually giving up and walking out. I almost placed a call via phone while standing at the counter, but I opted to take my money elsewhere. Maybe they were understaffed due to call-offs or something? I’m hoping my next visit will result in a successful transaction.

Unfortunately a poor experience trying this place for the first time. I really wanted to like this place, but I will not be returning. The meat on the cheesesteak was dry, bland, and the sub was lacking cheese…on a cheesesteak. On the other hoagie we ordered–which I added provolone to–I couldn’t even tell that there was cheese on it. The fries were very soggy and bland, absolutely no seasoning on them, not even salt. I expected better after looking at the website and seeing the picture of cheesesteak meat just covered in cheese on the grill– but that is NOT what you get, not even close. Also, I thought my litter box was dirty until I realized the smell was coming from my bag of food… yikes.

Just paid $37.23 for 2 people to eat, which is far too expensive for average to below average quality food. What’s worse is that we were told our food would be out in 10 minutes and it was 27 minutes when it finally arrived (fries came after 15 minutes, though). To add to that, a couple that came in 10 minutes after us and got their food quite a while before us. The server handed them a “small fry” and brought our large fry out, and looking over, I could see that the couple with the small fry had a significantly larger portion of fries than we did. These are very bland fries, by the way. The Reuben sandwich was… ok. Avoid this place, as there are cheaper, better sub options.

I was very happy with the cheesesteak I had today at Troys and the special was a great value! The service was also very good, the ladies working were friendly and fast. I also appreciated the house made fries.
My only issue: no salt on the fries! Please season fries, even lightly, it’s not the same when salt is added later at the table.

Con: Ordered “garlic parmesan fries” and they had 1.5-2 cups or ~14oz of melted liquid butter just pooled in the container (see photos)…. Like 1 -2 entire sticks of melted butter on one order of fries!

Updating my review. My food tonight changed my 5 star to a 2 star. I ordered chicken and fries with a side of blue cheese. Got no blue cheese. Opened my box to burnt chicken and fries. Down right nasty should have never been served.Will not go there again!
