Placed an order by phone today and went and picked up. I was early and my food was ready and fresh on time. The staff was very friendly and the building is clean and looks nice. The catfish, hush puppies and coleslaw were all delicious. Plenty of food for the price. Thank you and will see you again.

First time visit didn’t make a good impression. We were the first in, but had to wait 15 minutes to order, due to short staffing, & had to wait for management to arrive. Another 10 minutes to get our order, because drive thru was served first. The food was fresh of course, but aside from the chicken strips, we weren’t impressed. The chicken strips by themselves were good. The fried chicken sandwich my hb ordered looked nothing like the photo. It was basically chicken strips on a bun. And looked nothing like the menu photo. The cheese wasn’t melted, & the sauce wasn’t good. The hush puppies had a weird, different taste. Too dense, & not light & airy at all. Like they came pre frozen. The river chips didn’t have much seasoning or flavor. The establishment was clean, & the staff super nice, but there are things that could use improvement. Mainly local people that actually want to work to ensure speedier service.

Fish is very good and at the best price in town. The river fries are hand cut and fresh fried to order. You will have a wait if you order the fries, but everything I have tried has been good.

I tried the shrimp, catfish, hush puppies, fries, and okra. All were overcooked/ fried to order (which took about 10 minutes) To say the meal was not good would be an understatement. It all had that “pre-made, pre-packaged ” taste. The menu was limited as well. Two kinds of fish and fried shrimp. Their version of a side that comes with a meal is pieces of white bread and pickles. The fries were potato slices that were NOT crispy. And, whatever they did to the okra and the hushpuppies would be considered a culinary sin in any self respecting establishment. Its hard to mess up fried okra, but they rose to THAT challenge. The hushpuppies had a weird taste to them as well. I could have used the catfish to hammer nails with. As an added experience, while I stood waiting for my food , I got to listen to the surly counter person explain to at least 2 people that they charge 3.9% extra for paying with a card while pointing to a small sign behind the counter. In short, I will not be returning to Carters Fish and would not recommend this place.

The food is always good and hot. The staff is very personable and super nice. We stop by every Friday for fish, onion rings and cheesecake. If you haven’t stopped by m lm, I urge you to go.
