Unassuming spot. Glad we saw it and ate lunch. Food was good and diablo sauce is hot and delicious! Space is roomy and clean. Service is good as well.

Great Mexican food. Tamales were delicious without that much sauce needed. The items were a little over cheesed but was still great. We enjoyed the single shell tortillas that we had to break apart for our chips for the chips and salsa! Also, the salsa was really great! Amazing flavor with just a touch of spice that only enhanced the flavor instead of burning your taste buds off.

Good overall. Quick seating and food came out fast. They have a limited vegetarian section but a good portion. Salsa is on the mind side. Taco Al Pastor was a little dry, and we are hoping for more pineapple favor. But overall a good place to grab food.

Feels like all the other Mexican restaurant interiors. Nothing flashy. Nice bar with about 10 seats and a TV. The beer is ice-cold and the mugs are frosty. The food is consistently great. Only thing I haven’t loved was a shrimp dish. The combo plates have been perfect. Tacos, enchiladas, rellenos, etc. All good and it makes us happy.

Friends recommended La Cabanita to us, so we came here on a Saturday at lunch time. Happily, it was not crowded. We sat at a corner table and were served by a pleasant male waiter.
My wife ordered a chile rellano and an enchilda. I ordered camarones diabla, one of my favorite dishes. My wife had a coke and I had water.
My wife really enjoyed her food, and there was plenty of it, as she brought some home. In my dish, the shrimp were nice and plump, which was great, and the sauce was flavorful, though not as good as at another place I frequent. There were small pieces of mushroom, but there were also a lot of strips of onion, which I’m not a fan of. Just my personal taste.
They charge $3.50 for a soda, and for that price, my wife asked for a refill to go. She thought our server was perhaps a bit displeased that she made this request, but we feel that it is reasonable, given the price tag for soda that comes from a machine.
All in all, we enjoyed our experience at La Cabanita, and will return, we happen to be in the area (we live in Star).

This place had zero misses. Everything was executed at the highest level. Jorge our server was personable, friendly, and on top of the chips and salsa and drink refills. Loved the tostada shells for chips, they give you beans with cheese on top and a delicious green salsa. My enchilada dinner came out SO piping hot. I got a chicken taco on the side and the chicken itself was shredded, so juicy and the shell had a beautiful crunch to it and the lettuce on top still cold and fresh!
I licked my plate clean, I have not found a Mexican food place here in Idaho that exceeds my expectations like this place. I will be a regular and so bummed I wasted my time trying other places, this is the only place that does things 100% right! Can’t wait to come back.

If a restaurant could survive on charm alone, this place would be an institution. The staff are incredible and clearly love their job! However, the food was extremely hesitant with seasoning. I suspect the only spice they use is ‘mild disappointment.’ It’s a lovely environment, just don’t expect your taste buds to have an adventure. Come for the service, not the heat.

I had a Super Carne Asada buritto and it was amazing . The chicpd and salsa were tostada shells which was a little weird bu came with Salsa and beans with cheese on them. The waiters were helpful and nice.
