Not my usual Starbs, but I stopped by this weekend and was so impressed! The service was great and everyone was super friendly. The manager Aly served me and was so lovely to chat with. The team looked really put together — better than any location I’ve been to. They all had these cute personalized aprons with their names on them, which was such a nice touch. You can tell she really cares about her team and the overall vibe in the store.
You walk in, and it’s like the hot dog car crash sketch — everyone’s trying to figure out who could have made coffee this good, and Aly’s just standing there like, “We’re all trying to find the guy who did this!” because it’s HER. She did this.
The vibes? Immaculate. Drinks are flying out faster than Dan Flashes shirts sell out, and yet every single one is flawless.
You can’t skip lunch so go here. Aly’s Starbucks isn’t just a store. It’s an experience. You’ll leave saying, “You sure about that?” — but in the best, most deeply caffeinated way possible.
Arriving at this location, I was quite a bit downtrodden. You see, this is not my usual cafe, for I travel as per the high demands of my career. As a semi-professional dualist, I tend to frequent Starbucks locations all around the Yu-Gi-Oh tournament circuit of the greater Pennsylvania area. Thus, I indulge in a bit of liquid treats every now and again.
Larwin Doogan… My nemesis. He felled my Celtic Guardian AND my Red Eyes Black Dragon cards, thus ending my life points as well as my dreams in the semi-finals of the Feasterville Gamestop invitational; if you have not heard of such an event, then you may be a third rate dualist with a fourth rate deck. Hopes shattered, my grandmother brought me to this location for my usual defeat drink of choice.
We arrive and enter, and there is the employee that made me believe in the heart of the cards again. I gave her a tip of my hat and a friendly “m’lady” after she greeted me with a hello. I said my signature Starbucks catchphrase, “London is a bit foggy, let’s make it Breve, honey.” To anyone with even a quarter of a brain, this would mean a venti London Fog with cream and honey. I am happy to say that this employee understood and has a FULL brain. While some locations would only acknowledge my grandmother and ignore me entirely, this employee truly treated me as an adult; dare I say, an equal?
I let her know of my fate, of the trickery of Larwin Doogan and his dastardly deck, and she listened intently for the full 13 minutes of my story while still assisting other customers and completing her duties; more clues of the full brain. My drink arrived mid-story, hot and fresh. I bid her ado, only to find later that a note had been left on my cup. “You are the true champion. Believe in yourself. Larwin Doogan’s days are numbered.” I hung up my fedora with pride that night, for in all of my 34 years of living, I had never been beheld such kindness.
When I reached out to put in a good word on my experience with this employee to the manager, I was stunned to realize that she was, in fact, the manager. As a semi-professional trading card battler, I can recognize that this was indeed the right move. Thank you, stranger, for your kindness.
The music selection could be improved.
Been back twice now and ordered the blond roast and both times it was good. I think my trip before must have been just a one time problem.
