We were excited to try this place. I never look at reviews because I want to experience first hand what restaurant’s are like, without any biases.
Our appetizers were delicious. I ordered the seaweed salad and my son ordered dumplings.
Our $36.00 and $45.00 dollar dinner entrée were a huge disappointment. I don’t believe their cook, owner, sous chef, or whomever is in the kitchen is tasting what goes out. The way they plate is beautiful but the taste was horrendous! I ordered the rice paper wrapped salmon. The salmon wasn’t fresh and tasted really gross. It was sitting on a bed of raw cabbage, shredded carrots, red peppers, and was topped with pickled ginger. The cabbage and greens were soaked with vinegar, sweet chili sauce, while the veggies tasted old, and were going bad, so you tasted a vinegar, soured veggies gone bad masked with sweet chili sauce, then marry that with the old but cooked salmon. It was the worst food I’ve ever had. I nearly vomited, but went to the bathroom to rinse my mouth after I chugged my lemon water to get the taste out of my mouth. I beg the owners to please try what they are serving the public.
My son ordered the duck, and it was okay, but not amazing, delicious, just okay. It was plated beautifully though. The problem is the food. The presentation and staff are amazing but the food taste gross. They need to reevaluate their menu. I am not coming back. I know my son was disappointed too because he wanted to take me out for dinner and wanted me to thoroughly enjoy myself. I did enjoy the atmosphere with my son, is why I gave 5 stars. The service was really good too, but I suspect the server knew we didn’t enjoy our meal. I would say, overall–go for a drink and appetizers, but don’t buy any entrée until this place starts taking accountability for the terrible food they know they are serving the public.
I’ve included 4 photos. The appetizers, salmon and duck plates. The last photo is the incredibly sour as in going bad, mixed with sweet chili sauce, and spoiled crusted salmon juices mixed in. It was disgusting tasting, and the veggies were raw, crunchy and soured from going bad.

The food was an absolute surprise. My friend recommended this place and said it was terrific so we came because it sounds great and we were blown away how delicious everything was. The crabcakes were incredible. Panko red snapper was perfect. The server was outstanding, her name is Joan “Jo Ann” and was so friendly while super professional. What an excellent experience..

We had a very pleasant experience overall, starting with excellent service—our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, which we truly appreciated. The cocktails were a highlight of the evening; we thoroughly enjoyed the lychee martini, whiskey mule, and dirty martinis, all of which were well crafted. The pork buns were also outstanding and easily one of our favorite dishes.
That said, we felt the sushi offerings did not meet the same standard as the rest of the menu. We tried three different rolls and unfortunately found them to be lacking in flavor; while the Florida roll was the best of the three, it was still just okay. We also noticed that the ginger served with the sushi seemed lower quality and not very fresh.
Additionally, we had hoped to order the shrimp curry, but were surprised to learn that the shrimp were farmed tiger shrimp from India, which felt unexpected for a $36 entrée—especially given that fresh grouper and snapper were available on the menu.
The fried rice itself was enjoyable, though we were hesitant about the “Chinese sausage” due to limited information on its ingredients, as our server was unsure beyond it being pork, so we opted to order it on the side. Overall, while there were several strong elements to our meal, our expectations were higher given the pricing, and we felt there is room for improvement in consistency and ingredient transparency. The fact that some seafood was local while other dishes were farmed was a deterrent to be adventurous.

This was a great restaurant. Service was wonderful although they were really busy when we came so the food was slow. I did have better sushi (at Old Florida Fish House) but it was still good and our fish was wonderful as was the salad. I would absolutely not miss the fried rice. It was spectacular. Our server tried to talk us into a half portion and we didn’t listen. Get the half portion. I don’t know a scenario in which you’d get the full portion. Lol Great meal!

We went here as we have a discount book we bought earlier in the year and have yet to use. We drove for half an hour to get here. A pretty little place, very intimate. We were shown to our table after being offered either indoor or outdoor (screened) seats. We asked if our discount was valid as the table was being laid and were told we could. Unfortunately the grouper my wife wanted had sold out. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Our starters arrived promptly and the presentation was second to none. However, for me the flavours just weren’t there. Maryland style crab cakes are my favourite, they just didn’t do it for me unfortunately. The wife had a selection platter. She also agreed it was nice, but not amazing. I also ordered spring roll which was again, beautiful fresh and presented, but lacked in punch. It certainly wasn’t horrible. Our mains were brought out at a good point after the starters, my wife had a half portion of fried rice with shrimp and I had the bbq duck. My duck was fantastic – the flavours were great much more like what I expected. Cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The shrimp fried rice was also nice, not fantastic and had some rather large lumps of onion in it. The shrimp were huge, which meant there wasn’t that many of them. We then shared a coconut cake for dessert. That was very nice. However it all fell apart when we presented our discount. We were told we couldn’t use that with the fried rice as a meal. We spend $160 between two of us, yet we hadn’t spent enough to meet the requirements. That was very disappointing. And the meal certainly wasn’t worth $160 (Inc tip) unfortunately. I doubt we would go back, which is a shame.

Basmatis was recommended to us by a few folks and we thought we’d check it out. Plenty of gravel parking out front and we were sat immediately for our reservation. Reservation is not required and there was plenty of seating for walks ins. Overall, I’d recommend the Caesar, Red Dragon sushi roll and red snapper dish. The rest of our meal was sub par. Our server, Jesse, was great and knew his stuff. I would have given more stars if the restaurant had more space and the sushi was better prepared.

Was excited to try this restaurant and have some good sushi. We were seated quickly and the restaurant was nice but extremely loud even in the “outside” seating area. The menu was stained with food. Sushi was just ok and we had to ask for soy sauce and chopsticks….. kind of a given I would think. Nothing was horrible with the food but nothing was great or made us want to go back. Then we noticed the prices on the menu did not match what we were charged especially for the drinks. Would have been nice to know ahead of time there is an extra fee for using a card… we would have paid cash. The whole experice just wasent what we expected from the area and the type of restaurant this seemed to be.

Absolutely try this place out! The Duck and Snapper were both perfect. The Blue Crab sushi was FRESH!
Our waitress was quick and provided 5* star service. Best food I have had in 30A and better than 99% of Miami restaurants!

Basmati’s was nothing short of AMAZING! Food, service, atmosphere were top notch! Highly recommend the pupu platter for first timers. We had the feeling frisky sushi roll and it didn’t disappoint. The snapper and the grouper were outstanding! We’ll definitely be back.

We were in 30A for Thanksgiving and went in for dinner on Saturday. The place was completely full, however our table was ready at our reserved time. We alerted the server to a gluten allergy, and she said she would make sure we avoided anything with gluten. Half way through the meal she mentioned that one of our mains might have gluten because of the roe used, which we had already eaten on another course. Luckily after checking (and having to follow up on the request) we were told it did not contain gluten but it was almost a huge issue.
We ordered the pickled veggie roll and when it arrived it was missing ingredients and none of the veggies were pickled… The rest of the sushi was just fine, probably too expensive for the quality, but you’re in 30A so everything is a little more expensive.
The steamed pork dumplings were exceptional, and the reason that I would come back.
