Located in the historic former Barracks, the Chilkoot Trail Sourdough Bakery offers made-from-scratch lunches, baked goods, delicious pastries, soups, cookies and hot and cold beverages. We will be re-opening in May of 2023 and area open throughout the summer months.

After many times of hoping that this place would be open when we visit Carcross, today was finally the day. We came in to find a small, quaint area with lots of character with the decor and dining areas. We met Brett who was super generous with sharing some of his sourdough starter (I had to ask!). He shared some tips on how to use it best. We also bought some quiches and cinnamon rolls. They were TO DIE FOR!!! We were just sitting in the car rolling our eyes back with how delish these were! During our mid-tasting of our goodies, Brett came out to give our puppers some dog treats served on a plate! A man with class who knows how to treat the fur folk. This was literally the icing on top. Small town kindness at its finest! Chilkoot Trail Sourdough Bakery is a must visit for all the sourdough goodness and the man behind the counter for his passion and kindness. A+++ A Carcross must-visit if you’re in the area!

Stopped here during our visit in Carcross. My friend is a cinnamon bun fan and said this was the best one he has EVER had. Run by a very sweet woman and her mum. Would recommend and will go back next time we are visiting!

PLEASE visit this amazing bakery! We wish we had a place like this in our own town….the absolute BEST sourdough flavor I have ever tried — we had the cinnamon roll, a blondie, and the focaccia! My husband also LOVED the soup – it was perfect for his gluten-free needs, and I was able to sample all the things I wanted as well. We loved the KIND young couple who own the shop, and their generosity and taking time to chat. 10/10 recommend!

I had a fantastic experience at the Chillcoot Bakery. I had the sausage and kale soup. The owners gave me a couple slices of focaccia bread on the house to go with it! I caught them on their last day open for the season and they were giving locals who stopped in leftover produce and drinks to take home. One of the owners even gave me some local fishing tips and tricks while I was eating. You won’t find better customer service south of the Yukon River. 10/10 I will definitely be coming back next time I make it up to the Yukon. Thank you!!

What a great surprise on our Yukon trip. Wonderful baked goods and soups. The cinnamon buns are legendary. The owner spent time chatting with us. And be kind to a town dog if he joins you on the patio. We loved this place!

Awesome, delicious sourdough! Generous and kind people! Amazing space. The first time we came by it was closed, and the baker ran out with free goods, including gf for one of us! The next morning we returned before a hike and stocked up. Well worth your time to pop in. Very close to the train stop, just walk half a block. Do it! Yum!

This is a must visit when nearby! Best sourdough cinnamon rolls ever!!! Family loved the snickerdoodle. Reasonable prices, friendly owners. We went twice! Away from the hustle bustle, nice little outdoor patio for seating. Highly recommend over the touristy bistro in the main part of town, after trying both 😉

We stopped today while in Carcross and had the best cinnamon bun of our lives! (And we know good cinnamon buns!) The sourdough added depth of flavour to the buttery, rich dough, with great caramelization of the sugar on the exterior. All made even more decadent and delicious with a fabulous frosting. Loved the friendly service by Bret and Sarah, who took over the bakery a little over two months ago. Lovely young couple from eastern Canada who wanted adventure and opportunity and saw it in Carcross, carrying on a local business for another generation.
We also got a loaf of whole wheat sourdough that makes for fantastic toast and sandwiches! There are other delicions-looking baked goods as well as lunch – frittatas, homemade soup.
It’s a must-go-to in Carcross!
