Great food and very friendly service. Its not much of a restaurant and food is served in to go containers, but that didn’t matter to me because of how good the food was. We had the fried chicken with greens, mac and cheese; the pulled pork sandwich and the corn souflee. All were great. The greens and cornstifled. were exceptional. The chicken was juicy. They have a spicy green sauce that is very hot and different than anything I’ve tasted. Ask for it.

Insanely good BBQ. I split an 8pc BBQ rib dinner with my partner, and it was perfect. Ribs were meaty, nicely charred, and the sauce was incredible. For sides we had the Carolina potato salad and the collard greens. The greens were exceptional. Fatty, flavorful, with a little bit of heat. The service was also very nice. I got a nail in my tire and asked for a suggestion for where to get it repaired, and one of the kind men there even offered to give me a ride somewhere so I wasn’t stranded.

Traveling Cosmos and Tacos
Update: Picked up two dinner plates today. Overall experience was ok but there was definitely room for improvement. I got corn soufflé that was more like a thin burnt small piece of hard cornbread (bottom right photo of fish plate) The tilapia was seasoned and fried perfectly, there was something missing about the mac & cheese (maybe because I’m used to it being cooked with different types of cheeses and egg in it?) There was a number of people eating inside today, maybe this was an “off day”? I would give the food 6/10 score today. I ate just enough to take off the hunger, but unfortunately, I did not finish my food.
Was so glad they were open News Years day! I ordered the fried fish, Mac n cheese and Collards. Everything was perfectly seasoned and tasty! Will be back again to try other things on the menu!

I ordered the jerk chicken. The chicken was cooked excellent but the jerk sauce was so salty I honestly couldn’t eat it. I would give it another shot. I just hope they see this and adjust their recipe

If you like a local joint style place with amazing food look no further. I’ve been driving past for years and finally stopped in and I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
I got pulled brisket and ribs. The brisket was perfectly seasoned and melted in my mouth. You won’t find better. The ribs were big, meaty and cooked to perfection. I’m going back tomorrow. I need this in my life.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, football on the widescreen as I waited. Heaven’s foyer this place.

Great little family owned bbq spot. I’m not usually a big bbq fan but I stopped by here with some friends and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the rib tips meal which came with an ample amount of the rib tips, baked beans, Mac n cheese and corn bread all for only $20. The only downside was the cornbread it could use some more moisture but everything else was fantastic. Definitely would go again.

Omg I was very disappointed! The food was very distasteful. The sweet potatoes were hard, the Mac n Cheese tasted bland, the chicken had a very burnt taste and to top it off the beans were disgusting and cold in the middle….the meal was so disgusting and I wasted $62 for me and my daughters food that we just left there and ended up having to buy food elsewhere on Mother’s Day. So before you waste your money like me I would recommend going elsewhere. Look at the picture it says a 1000 words

I highly recommend Big Daddy’s BBQ. Authentic Southern Soul Food in Rockland! My partner is from the south and he is always looking for a great southern smoked brisket with all the fixins. Well is safe to say we found our new spot close to home! The service was excellent and the food was good. The Smokey, juicy and well-seasoned meats with all the yummy sides was incredibly delicious. The portions are decent and the price is decent. We had Brisket, Pull pork, Jerk Chicken, Fried Chicken, Potato salad, Mac and cheese, candied yams, collard greens and corn bread. The cooks season truly takes your tastebuds to home cooked meal from the Carolinas. I can’t wait to go back to try out the rest of the menu.

Okay, so far I love what I did purchase from here. Everything was seasoned and the Ribs, pulled pork had the smoke needed to make it flavorful. The mac and cheese was the perfect blend of pasta and cheese and was delicious. The collard greens had just enough of a slight vinegar taste along with turkey smokiness. The corn souffle was tasty and the cornbread was very good. The only con that I discovered was the corn fritter was too greasy. The Caribbean spiced chicken is ghost pepper hot, so be cautious… if you can’t handle it, don’t get it.
Now this will become a goto spot for that southern food craving.
Now this small place has what it takes with their flavor profiles and well seasoned foods to go toe to toe with any large competitors.
I recently tried Brothers Smokehouse in Ramsey, NJ and wasn’t impressed so I have to say they are new, but all the positive reviewers may not have tasted true southern pit smoked BBQ or those well seasoned sides.
I will say give Big Daddy’s Home Plate a try and you surely will not be disappointed.
