My wife and I ate here for the first time last week and the experience was very lovely. It was a quite night with most of the seating available which meant we had what seemed like all the attention. Our waitress was very knowledge and prompt and our food and drink selections were all beyond satisfactory. (Cocktails, appetizers, dinner, and dessert). We look forward to coming back again.

Incredible atmosphere, food, and service, all top notch. Perfect way to spend a date night. Our server Tom was super nice and attentive. The food we ordered came out at great pacing, and was incredibly delicious. We had the willoughby wedges (potato wedges), the best cauliflower I’ve ever had, a killer bowl of French onion soup, the smoked mussels and burger. I recommend all of those! A good friend recommended this spot a couple years ago and it lived up to everything he praised about.

We recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at this incredible restaurant, and I cannot recommend it enough. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a special evening. The staff were attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience.

The highlight of the evening was the Sunday sauce—it was absolutely amazing! The depth of flavor, the perfect balance of spices, and the richness of the sauce made it one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It complemented the pasta beautifully, and I could tell it was made with care and the finest ingredients. Every bite was pure bliss.

Beyond the Sunday sauce, the entire meal was exceptional. The appetizers were fresh, the main courses were perfectly cooked, and the desserts were the perfect end to a fantastic meal.

This restaurant truly made my wife’s birthday memorable, and I can’t wait to return for more delicious meals.

We had the pleasure of visiting this establishment on Thursday, April 3, 2025, arriving just before 5:00 PM. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly—a stroke of luck, as reservations are typically recommended here.

The ambiance is dark and moody, by design. The dim lighting and accented interior gave off a castle-like aesthetic, which complements the establishment’s identity as a bourbon bar. It’s a place where people gather not only to dine, but to drink and unwind in a cozy, almost medieval atmosphere. The setting was unique and immersive, offering a high-end, yet comfortable, experience.

To start, we ordered the Brussels sprouts—and they were phenomenal. Easily one of the best renditions of this dish we’ve tried. Crispy, flavorful, and uniquely seasoned, they showcased the chef’s creativity and attention to detail. These are a must-try for any first-time visitor.

For our main course, we selected the C.A.B. (Certified Angus Beef) Strip Steak, priced at $48. Each came with fried mushrooms, a whole grain mustard sauce, and potato wedges. I requested my steak cooked slightly more than medium, leaning toward medium-well, and although there was still a bit of visible pink (even a touch of blood, as seen in photos), the flavor and execution were exquisite. The steak was tender, perfectly seasoned, and rich with flavor—absolutely worth every dollar.

To end the meal, we enjoyed a slice of baklava cheesecake. This dessert delivered on all fronts—texture, flavor, and originality. It was one of the most memorable cheesecakes I’ve had in quite some time. The fusion of classic baklava crunch and creamy cheesecake was executed beautifully.

Service throughout the evening was smooth and attentive. The staff maintained a good balance of professionalism and warmth. The bathroom was spacious and clean, which added to the overall positive impression of the establishment.

Final Thoughts

This restaurant is truly a gem in Willoughby, Ohio. Whether you’re a bourbon enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates well-crafted food and atmosphere, this spot deserves a visit. It’s a high-quality dining experience with a distinct character—and one that absolutely belongs on your local or travel bucket list. 1st time here. Mother’s Day. Parking was a little rough, so we parked at the library. We had reservations, so I’m unsure of what it’s like without them.
Our waitress was so amazing I think her name was Sarah. Don’t quote me, though! I also think she served as bartender, waitress, and taste tester, too. She made my margaritas She was able to answer everything we asked about the food. And she was an awesome waitress!
The menu is small but offers a variety of items to fulfill whatever you’re in the need of. I opted for the burger because I’m not adventurous. We all ordered something different and we were all extremely happy and satisfied with our experience.
Will I come here again. Ummmm YEP! I actually can’t wait. Only thing to make it better would be a little live music It just gave me that vibe.

Cool, scratch kitchen concept making everything fresh that day. Not a huge menu, but everything on it that we tried was delicious. Nice drink list and cool whiskey drinks. Food looks and tastes great. Some unique ideas. Service is nice and food is pretty quick. Medium amount of seating and can be busy. Good to get a reservation.

We went to this restaurant on a weekly basis. We spent a lot of money here.. The one time I told the server that the pork chop is overcooked, She came back with a Cavalier attitude and told me that it was tempted by the kitchen and perfectly done… I don’t know what they used to temp it, but as a career chef, You’re not gonna pull the wool over my eyes when a brined steak pork chop comes out gray and shoe leather. She became aggressive and rude and brought us our bill before I even ordered a second drink even though my son was still eating his meal.. And then told me that it was not her fault, when I told her, I understood that it wasn’t her fault but The fact that the pork chop was perfectly done when I was telling her that it was overcooked was BS , He stormed back to our table, slapped down the bill, told us to take our money and never come back.. The owner of the restaurant proceeded to chase us out of the restaurant, asking why we weren’t paying the bill.. After his server told us not to pay keep our $ and never come back.. Apparently, criticism is not something that they handle well.. enjoy being the next restaurant to shut down in Lake County.

Wow! Hook and Hoof was an all around amazing experience. From the ambiance of the dining room to bartender coming to our table to and offering some mocktail options to the servers attendance to our needs this was a fantastic dining experience! Then I couldn’t even decide on what to order so I ended up ordering several options to share with my son. Everything was cooked perfectly from the tender smoked mussels to the succulent durock pork rib and perfect pink CAB strip steak ……even my son’s burger was top tier. I don’t think their is a bad choice on the menu. Well done to the entire team from beginning to end……now if I can only figure out how the crap you made those freaking potato wedges……I may be able to finally get a good night’s sleep.

This place is amazing! Our server Tom was so personable and helpful. The manhattans are impressive!

And the food… incredible! Chef Kevin outdid himself! We got the Willoughby Wedges, Meatballs, Confit Wings, AND Sunday Sauce. We were so happy with our choices (the wings were my favorite!). So flavorful and beautifully presented.

I’d definitely recommend Hook & Hook and we can’t wait to come back!
