I’ve been to Mot To three times already. I think the food is pretty good, and the lunch sets are a really good deal. The thing I really come back for is the coconut coffee though. It’s so good!

The ambience is also good. Don’t be turned off by the parking area! Once you get in it’s clean and cozy.

Service is pretty quick, but the servers aren’t very friendly. In fact they make you feel very rushed. In my third time here my mom and I barely finished eating and they were already asking to take the dishes away, which rather ruined the experience. Maybe they were just tired in general. Still, all on all it’s a pretty good restaurant and I would still go back.

Definitely a must-try in Calgary. Excellent food. The grilled cheese really stood out to me and my picky 6 yo, loved it too.

Pleasantly surprised by this pho restaurant, considering I don’t really like that many pho places.

Pho often times just never really hits the spot for me (as a vietnamese person lol) at a restaurant. A lot of the times it always tastes too artificial or it tastes like they took shortcuts, but this one was pretty good!

There may be differing opinions depending on the vietnamese person you talk to but I personally thought this one was good compared to other places. The bun bo hue (spicy lemongrass soup) was also good! It tastes very closely to my family’s homemade one.

Their beef carpaccio was also good, but do note there’s a raw egg that goes on top, including the egg whites. I know people who don’t like the sliminess of the egg. I didn’t mind it personally.

I think this place is worth trying out and I would come back again Plus the restaurant itself looks beautiful inside!

First time trying out Mot To and I was left satisfied but not impressed. We tried the sate beef (which is highly rated on social media) and the curry chicken.

Food: nicely presented, basil and bean sprouts are fresh, noodles were nicely cooked and fluffed, flavour was fine, and amount of meat was satisfactory. We came during the birthday week and got a discount, otherwise hard to justify paying the regular price for the quality, quantity and overall taste (nothing too special).

Service: was prompt overall especially during the lunch rush and the restaurant was full.

Atmosphere: I really enjoyed the decor and the assortment of Vietnamese cookbooks to peruse while waiting. Feels fun and modern, especially for a Vietnamese joint.

Overall: a bit overpriced in my opinion for “typical” pho dishes, they do have some unique items.

Mot To Special (special beef pho) great portion size and $ value. I don’t enjoy the broth, too light, lacks beefy-ness and depth. Tastes like bột ngọt (msg)

My first time eating Vietnamese fusion cuisine. Some of the dishes work well and others were interesting let’s say. I definitely enjoyed the drinks and desserts here. The appetizer and mains were overall good. They did a great job with the ambiance and decor. The location is a bit sketchy and the parking lot behind the restaurant is quite crowded. The server was quick and friendly. I think it’s a must try at least once and see if you are a fan or not.

Food is good, I enjoyed the satay soup quite a bit, however i am not happy with the service and atmosphere, i cant tell if you are trying to be a higher end restaurant or just another pho restaurant.

And yes, handing me the bill with a predatory pos machine after im done with the soup does make me feel like you want me out of your restaurant ASAP.

I read about Mot To in Avenue Magazine’s 10 best new restaurants and decided to check it out with my family. The place was hopping for a Wednesday night (always a good sign) and we were warmly welcomed by the hostess. The ambiance was lively with great music (not too loud) and cool decor. We started with pork spring rolls and papaya salad, which were both fresh and delicious. Then all three of us had pho (spicy peanut/sate for my husband and I, and regular for our daughter). We all enjoyed it very much. We finished with Vietnamese churros and a mango sticky rice. The portions were very large for most everything. We practically waddled out from over eating, but it was too good to stop. The menu was very well marked for those with dietary restrictions, which I always appreciate. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu and determine our mot to (favourite bowl)!

The service was fantastic. We were there for quite a while as we had a friend stop by halfway through our meal. The staff never tried to rush us or made us feel we have an overstayed. I had the chicken pho it was heavy on noodles light on chicken. My friend ordered spicy beef pho and enjoyed it very much. We tried the gluten-free spring rolls. If you’re really craving spring rolls you might want to go for it otherwise I would pass.
I wish they would have told me about the gluten-free cake I saw it on a sign as I was leaving.
The restaurant was very cold where we were seated and when we brought it to the attention of the server they turned up the heat. Instantly we were much more comfortable.

Don’t be discouraged by the unassuming façade, and have a great surprise inside. Because Mot To ranked top places to eat in Calgary I couldn’t miss it, and made a reservation right away. It can get full quickly. Staff is awesome and the food lives up to the hype. I had a delicious oxtail pho and crispy pork rolls, accompanied by a scrumptious meat and cheese melt sandwich that comes with a broth dip. Price is fair. Come hungry because the portions are generous.
