Though my husband wasn’t fond of the flavor, I found it nice ( he let me try a bite). The sushi was good. The fish on the nigiri was thick but not too thick for the distribution of rice and the roll was well balanced in vegetable, meat and rice. There was a clear difference in the crab stick nigiri and the snow crab roll.
The ginger sauce for the salad was great in comparison to normal sushi shops. It’s mild in flavor and has a better unison to it. The salad also tasted fresh despite how late we came.
You can tell people know what they are doing as we were told a 10 to 15 wait and it felt more like 5 minutes for the food.
The miss who took our order was lovely. She was trying her best to handle the service area alone and was doing an amazing job.
Between the flavor, presentation ( wish I got a photo before I ate it…),and service, I would honestly recommend them to friends and family. The people who work here really seem to be trying their best and you can taste the handywork in the dishes they present.
First, the good: The fish quality was good, though we only tested salmon and yellow tail. I would definitely eat it again. The sushi tasted more fresh than Publix, which isn’t a high bar, but a good sign. The udon noodle broth/flavor was good and the cast iron pot they served it in kept it piping hot and authentic looking. The server was friendly and food came out quicker than expected. People seemed relatively happy with the place, including the bar flies. They had a nice size crowd for a Thursday night.
The not so good: Tempura batter was really heavy, not real tempura. Udon veggies were somehow undercooked while noodles were very soft. Nigiri sushi rice was coldish, not warm or even room temperature, and worse, the nori was mushy, not dry and crispy. A real sushi place always has crispy nori. Wasabi was not fresh ground, but store bought. Ginger not palatable. The bathrooms weren’t the cleanest. Bar flies were a bit loud. It’s a very Americanized place with non-Japanese staff.
But at least they were fairly busy, suggesting that the average American likes their sushi and this works for them.
They have a long list of special rolls and they didn’t provide too many time to read the menu and I feel like is hurry up up to order
Big portions great prices
I definitely enjoyed it ☺️
Great service
I have asked to provide spicy chilli oil on a side but they given plain oil. Looks like they are trying to sell more oil rather than food.
Also There are hardly any veggies or egg seen in the fried rice.
and very very over priced for the quantity they offer.
I would rather go to a Chinese place where they serve much better fried rice but fairly cheap price.
