This used to be one of my favorite places, especially because it advertises being open 24 hours. Unfortunately, that is not accurate. Almost every night or early morning when I get off work, the location is either closed, on break, or understaffed because the next shift has not arrived and the previous shift has left early.
Even when they are technically “open,” I am often told they can only serve fried food and that nothing else on the menu is available. I understand that cleaning and shift changes happen, but this occurs almost every time I come in. On top of that, the woman who usually works the register at this time is consistently rude. If the situation were explained respectfully, I would be more understanding, but the attitude makes the experience frustrating and unpleasant.
This has become such a regular issue that it feels intentional, even if it may not be. Today, the interaction was especially disrespectful, to the point that I was uncomfortable ordering food. I was told to come back at 10 to speak with a manager, which means I now have to make a separate trip just to understand when this location is actually operating as advertised.
If this store is not truly open 24 hours, the hours should be clearly posted. More importantly, customers should be treated with basic respect. This location needs better overnight management and clearer communication. This is not how a customer should be treated.

This is a great spot for Mexican food. We’ve been coming here seasonally for several years.
Here’s the thing though. I get the same thing every time. I enjoy the carne asada burritos so much I never try anything else.
My wife mixes it up but doesn’t think as highly as I do.

Been coming here for years when I visit my mom in palm desert. it’s the only place that I know of with potato taquitos. The food is excellent though the prices have almost doubled since I was here 3 years ago. Which is why I gave it a 4 star. The price of the taquitos is fine but add beans a small side of beans is $5 and the jalapenos and carrots they used to have for free are now almost 2 bucks so when you add that all together my 3 taquito with beans and a side of jalapenos was over $15!! And it used to cost me 8 so that was a bit of a shock. But I’ve always had pleasant and quick service and the food is always fresh and delicious and I understand the Costs of food has escalated but 5 bucks for beans really is a bit much… maybe there should be an option to add a scoop of beans for like 2.50

So tonight 12/21/25 came through the drive thru a little before 6pm, and the girl had an attitude PROBLEM.ALSO Gave me dirty looks because I asked her if she can wipe the soda that spilled From the sides of the soda while she was handing it to me. She barely wiped it and I had to re wipe it so I don’t get it all over my hands and car, I asked her something else. She just had a BAD ATTITUDE..I won’t come back. Aren’t fast food workers making 20.00hr now… wow just saying..The food was good, the service was POOR. I FELT VERY UNWELCOMED. thats probably why this place only has a 3.6 star..

They are stealing from customers they gave prices on their drive through that they have had for months and you go to pay and it’s double from what they say the food is, very wrong of them not to change their prices be careful when ordering they are suppose to by law go by pricing they give. We went to the Varner rd store. Everything was fine until my wife and I got food poisoning. We’re still in bed most of next morning. We will never go back!!!!

Best California burritos out of all Castañeda’s that I go to. Extra cheese , a little of their avocado flavored hot sauce and its delicious!
