First off, it’s somewhat hidden. I couldn’t see it driving down Glenoaks but my buddy told me about this place. I’m extremely grateful that he did. Pulling up there’s a good amount of parking. Coming in, the hostess was extremely nice and very attentive. They sat us down and in less than 10 minutes they had pur drinks and our chips and salsa (best salsa I’ve ever had). We ordered our food and in about 15 minutes our food was out. That’s pretty impressive if you ask me. They had a cool salad bar plus a good fish soup at the bar. I got the imperial shrimp and my wife got the shrimp cocktail. Lemme tell you, I’ve never had shrimp this good in my life! For desert, we had the fried ice cream. It was my first time trying it and it was absolutely delicious. This place far exceeded my expectations and I left full and happy. I was walkimg out in such a good mood. This was good food and the best part of it was that it wasn’t expensive at all. I spent $50 for two people and I had a couple beers! I will definitely be coming and recommending to anyone I know who likes seafood.

In the heart of San Fernando Valley, CA is they Best molcajetes on the West Coast!!! Molcajete a signature dish comes with Molcajete small (Chico) feeds 1-3 people ; carne asada, queso fresco, chorizo, pollo, frijoles de la olla en chile verde, with tortillas & rice, seafood stew aka “caldo de pescado” with vegetables was very flavorful, the breaded shrimp dish always hits the spot, oh my the flan (dessert) is like party in your mouth.
Pleasant atmosphere, waitress Mago is on her A-game. Our family tips her no less than 20%, her service is real.
The venue has hosted in other instance family gatherings with a pre-fixe menu. It’s a family owned business, easily 25+ year established. Grateful with the oasis of Valley.

Definitely lives up to the expectations. It’s a very unpresumptous place in Sylmar next to My Bakery and it is delicious. So glad I stopped by. The staff and the manager/owner is super attentive.

I like to order a little bit of everything when I try a new place to eat. This place was very disappointing. To start, I ordered half a dozen oysters. As soon as I saw them, I noticed they had a light green substance, as if they were not good anymore. The waitress said that was normal, however, if you order oysters all the time, you know when things don’t look right. I tried one, and yep not good. Order deep fried shrimp, with white rice. Oh no no no. The rice was warmed up in the microwave, as you can tell when it was rice from a previous day, and not fresh. The shrimp were ok
At this point, the waitress goes on to say that what I ordered is basic stuff and not their famous or popular dishes. I say to myself, if you can’t make something as simple as fresh rice, why would I come back to this place. Lol .
My total was about $60, even though I had the waitress take both oysters, and shrimp with rice back, as it was not good enough to keep tasting it.
At the end of the day, I just ordered another beer, as it is the only thing decent there.

Do yourself a favor and steer clear of the 7 Mares soup—it’s absolutely terrible. It’s nothing like the original dish! What they served me resembled a beef stew packed with vegetables and imitation crab. The flavor was downright unpleasant, and it certainly wasn’t worth the $25 price tag. This was, without a doubt, the worst 7 Mares I’ve ever had—a vegetable soup disguised as seafood.
The mole enchiladas were equally disappointing. Considering it was a Friday evening, the restaurant was completely empty, which should’ve been a red flag. The food was truly awful.
To make matters worse, the service left much to be desired. The server asked me if everything was okay at least five times, and each time I told them that it wasn’t. I mentioned right away that the soup didn’t look anything like the picture on the menu. Her response? “Oh, we make it look redder in the picture to make it more appealing.” Seriously?! I couldn’t believe that was their solution to the lack of quality.
If I could give this place fewer than one star, I would. The food is a complete disappointment, and the service does nothing to resolve the issues. Save your money and go elsewhere!

This is just my opinion. The shrimp is not deveined and looks/tastes awful. I spent more time burning my fingers trying to clean the shrimp on my plate instead of enjoying it. I never understood leaving the tails and some shell on the shrimp when it’s fajitas. Then my card was charged twice the amount of the bill. It was fixed because I caught it but the experience was enough to call it quits on this place. Not the same as it was years ago.
