Be careful ordering through Uber Eats; they give you the wrong order and then come back to retrieve items and deliver it right to the person without the person ever knowing which I’m sure is a food safety hazard. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, they gave me a calzone, took the calzone back and left me with a small pepperoni, absolutely unacceptable!!! The person on the phone is also completely rude and doesn’t own up to his mistakes…I’m disgusted

The service And atmosphere was atrocious. The man at the register was literally engaging in an argument with a customer trying to embarrass her about not having enough money to pay for her food. The customer might have gone a little overboard but the rep definitely was agitating her. And then he spent a good 3 minutes venting with me, and all I kept saying was, can I just please have my pizza. The pizza was pretty good! However, I’ll never go back. There are plenty of pizzerias for me to go to one where the workers willingly engage in drama that could easily escalate to violence.

When we come into town I like to get pizza today I noticed the guy at the front counter taking his sweet time to give me my food , as we were leaving I asked my bf was I imagining his lack of speed. My bf said No before you came in he asked me to unfold the money when I handed it to him but the manager stepped in and asked his employee “what are you doing” “I know the guy” “don’t do that” although this is my favorite pizza location when I come I to town, we won’t be returning due to poor customer service.

I ordered 3 steak and extra cheese wraps today. There was no cheese in any of the wraps. The steak was as cold as ice, and dry. The wrap was falling apart. I lost $40 with this order. And, I’m disgusted. I threw all 3 wraps in the trash.

my brother put me on this place. he use to eat here when was kids. that was 30 years ago. well we visit mattapan a month ago and all he kept talking about was he was hoping this place was still there. well when we got to boston this is the first place we check on. since he talk about it so much i decided to get a pizza and the the pie was excellent. im mad i had to leave mattapan ma to go back to florida.

I can’t believe I am writing this review but on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, I had a negative experience with an employee when I tried to place an order at a restaurant I have been visiting since my childhood. I called Mattapan House of Pizza 30 minutes before their closing time which was not by choice, however unfortunately, I was met with an unprofessional and disgruntled employee who informed me that they were closed and hung up in my face, even though it was still 30 minutes before their actual closing time.
I strongly believe that this employee needs a major attitude adjustment as I have had mostly negative experiences with this person in the past, and whenever I came to this restaurant, I always try my best to be nice to this particular person. However, it seems that practicing good quality customer service isn’t something that is enforced and taught much nowadays. Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand if taking an order 30 minutes before closing time could be a major inconvenience if you want to go home; however, the tone of this person speaking to me over the phone could have been more friendlier and more professional.
Usually, calling this restaurant 30 minutes before their closing time was never an issue, and when I arrived, I was almost always met with good quality customer service. However lately I’ve been noticing a major decline in good quality customer service at this restaurant and although Mattapan House of Pizza has been a long-standing restaurant in the area, employees like this person are one of many reasons why Black businesses do not last. Where I come from respect is earned and as of writing this review my respect has been lost and I will be no longer supporting this business.
