I have never had such mixed feelings when writing a review. My husband wanted wings and our favorite wing place was busy with parties. We decided to give this place a try, since we have never been here. The very first impression we got was walking through a smoke filled entrance with our three kids that left it hard to breathe. I tried to look past that but every single time the door was opened, the smoke would waft past our table and linger. As a non-smoking family this literally left a bad taste in our mouth. Then, after we entered no one greeted us. No one welcomed us or told us to have a seat, my husband finally said, “Is this OK” and we were acknowledged as we picked a seat and sat. We get the menus and are appalled at the price of wings. $19 for “sauced wings” and no fries. That’s way more than anyone local and more than 15 at BWW at $17.49. My husband opted for a burger, even though the only reason we were out was for wings. My daughter wanted a side instead of fries with her burger. We were told that we would be charged the full price for the side. If it were just me I would have left long before this but we continued to order. We were cold after a long weekend of hockey tournaments and freezing outside and just didn’t want to cook. I asked for potato circles or rounds or something like that. You were out. At this point I was well past frustrated and was just mad that we were wasting our money and just wanted to leave. I do have to say, after all that negative, our food was wonderful. The fries were hot and crispy and all the sandwiches were flavorful and cooked well. We were given our bill and then had to chase down the waitress to pay, and then sent back to our table to wait instead of it being taken care of at the bar. The waitress was nice after we were acknowledged and seemed fairly attentive to our needs. I personally wouldn’t say it was super busy, but people were there for the packer game. We were given a shot for a touchdown, that was nice. We did wait a little longer than I was expecting but saw a to go order get picked up and that was likely the reason. I probably wouldn’t have noticed how long it took if we were not dealing with the cigarette smell when the doors open, and there are not too many options to sit anywhere not near the door. It’s such a shame that such a place could have really well cooked tasty food and leave you with the feeling that you still wouldn’t choose to come back.

Decided to make a small pit stop for food on our way back home and glad we did! The smash burgers we both got were delicious and highly recommend others to try them out! Service was also very friendly!

My sister inlaw had the fish sandwich and chips I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. We had fried mushroom as a appetizer. The waitress was friendly and professional. The food was good they have the coated fries which is not my favorite.

Good food was excellent… we stopped during bacon fest.. bartender /waitress left a lot to be desired.. not very friendly.. never asked us how our food was.. and really honestly acted like she was put out to wait on us.. I watched people cooking in the back kitchen … looked so happy to be cooking

Definitely a small locla hideout, everyone stopped and looked as we came in, nkt to worry though, a seemingly friendly crowd with great staff. Went for the fish fry and it was good walleye sandwiches

Was looking forward to getting together with girlfriends that I haven’t seen in a while. 7-8 of us total. We asked to push two tables together and the waitress was so nice and started to HOWEVER a man at the bar (not sure who he was), says “we don’t do that here”, we asked why and he said “we can’t cook for two tables at once” we said that’s ok, we can order separately but we’d like to talk together- he admittedly said “No, Don’t do it”!
So needless to say, we won’t be back & We moved to the Feed Mill!!!

Soda was flat. Was offered another type, that to had no carbonation (fizz). Waitress just said, “Oh”. Meals arrived. Husband hot pork chops, just awful. About 1/8″ thick, if that and extremely DRY! Came with mashed potatoes. They were NOT homemade, I’m sure they were instant. Husband left 3/4 of meal on plate. I had a burger, blah, nothing to write home about. I called out 2x for the waitress passing our table who completely ignored us. She never came over and asked how our meal was. I needed change to pay the bill and after sitting there for sometime, I left what I had and she ended up with a great tip, but we will never go back again. Quality of food/service has gone down over the years. At the cost of going out to eat, there are so many more restaurants that would love ours and our friends business.

We decided to try the specials of the month for supper tonight and The sandwich of the month slaps. Mountain Mama Sourdough Bun, Smash Burger dipped in Gravy, Muenster Cheese, Mushrooms and Water’s Edge Cheese Curds white cheddar curds. They need to make this a permanent part of their menu. It was that good.
The appetizer of the month: Chile Relleno Spring Rolls Where every bit as good as the burger. Again, another one they need to make a permanent part of their menu.
And aside from the great food, the staff are amazing as well. They’re always so incredibly friendly. The service is fast and the quality of the food is outstanding. It’s just always a win to stop here.
