The men’s room is one of the few you want to spend a little extra time enjoying the art work. Really gives you something to think about. Ladies room is reportedly inspiring for those with different tastes. The whole bar is full of cool relics of the past especially Hamms. But heck we came because we were thirsty and hungry. Super duper friendly conversation led to some delicious food and beverages. Hamms on tap, but they have a cooler of bottles to satisfy every customer’s taste. A place I will find my way back to when in the area. Seemed like a popular place for locals and elite tourists like ourselves stumbling out of the Boundary Waters wearing the scent of northern pike, smoke, and assorted funk.

Everyone says to come here for bloody’s! And to do laundry next door. Absolutely genius!
We did come for exactly both. All but 3 washers were out of order and most of all the dryers. Literally 20% operational. Okay, what’s the point if one person can do laundry at a laundry mat?
Over to the bloody Mary’s. The waitress made ours like she wanted us to leave. Super warm, absolutely no garnish. I asked for spicy and she said, do you own. Okay. But then. When I said, “I don’t mean to be a bother, but can I have a few olives?” Her response was, “you already are, you ordered a bloody Mary.” People actually come here for this?

Also came in from the laundry mat not knowing the door doesn’t swing shut to the bar. There are nicer ways to ask people to keep the door shut, Ms Angry Bartender. Way to keep your visitors knowing where they don’t belong.

Waitress never came back one time to check on our table. Food took over an hour to get after ordering. 2 bartenders, 4 tables to wait on and one patron sitting at the bar. terrible service. Had to sit at a dirty table as none were cleaned off. Waitress took the dirty plates and never wiped the table off. Paid the bill, no thanks for coming in, nothing. They never even cleaned off the dirty tables that were dirty when we got here. Lazy!

This place is great! Stopped here for breakfast on our way back home on a Sunday. We sat at the bar and our bartender was great. I had the Denver Omelet with hash browns. They were busy and with a small kitchen it didn’t take to long to get our food.
