Beautiful restaurant. My husband and I ate here before going to the Dakota – very convenient! Our server, Lydia, was very helpful. Lumi has one of the best NA menus I’ve seen – many NA wines, mocktails, and beers. I had a great NA sparkling wine and my husband enjoyed his manhattan. We had the mezze plate, the mix kebab, and baklava. I would go back in a heartbeat for the mezze plate alone. Overall an outstanding experience at Lumi!

I had my doubts about this restaurant because of the location. The place is actually pretty good. We got a sample platter with different types of hummus, and they were all delicious. It came with their traditional bread, which was fresh and warm. We also got the mixed skewers, and it was very good. The seasoning is amazing. The service was excellent, and the waitress was very friendly. Very welcoming. It was a lot of food, so we could get dessert, and we took the rest to go. Definitely coming back.

Really great spot. We didn’t have a reservation, but I would recommend getting one. The interior was nice and comfortable, although a little loud. The menu was big, and I would recommend ordering some Turkish cuisine. They also have lots of drink options. Service was just okay for us, but the food was delicious. The babaghanoush in particular was exceptional. I also loved the Adana Kebab. We had enough to eat, and the menu had clear markings on dietary restrictions and options. Prices were good, too, especially for the quality of food.

Closer to a 4.5 in terms of food quality, and it’s only because of a few dishes that were mediocre that made me feel like giving it a 5 would be misleading. However, please allow me to say that having this establishment in Minneapolis is much needed because one can get food from various types of cuisines here and that itself honestly makes this place very valuable.

Among all the dishes I have ordered over two times visiting here, my favorite was the kofte, which I know is a form of traditional Turkish dish, and what I loved about it was the ample amount of seasoning that defined the flavor of the ground beef & lamb and the sauce that would alter the flavor profile in a positive manner if needed. The pickled onion and rice offered extra means to enjoy the dish, so I utilized them to the maximum. The adana kebab was a kebab version of the kofte except for the meat wasn’t as seasoned. My friend had that dish and it was still good. I also have tried the iskender which I knew was a popular dish here and also a common dish in Türkiye. It was slightly underwhelming because the meat wasn’t as seasoned and wasn’t tender enough, so I had to rely on the tomato sauce and the yogurt for assistance. Another friend had the beef stroganoff and I tasted it a bit. The tenderloin was marinated very well and the demi glace provided good flavor, along with the brussels sprouts that was cooked well enough to serve as a side dish.

The lentil soup was pretty good, albeit not spectacular as it was relatively plain, and I know that lentil requires seasoning to give it flavor. The baklava wasn’t crispy enough on the top and didn’t have enough stickiness or sweetness to compliment the amount of pistachio that was added, but I will say that having a good amount of pistachio was a definite plus. The sutlac was great! The rice pudding flavor was evident and having one scoop with such along with the pistachio on top made it a very enjoyable experience! It also had a lot in a bowl, so the amount included was also very satisfactory.

As mentioned previously, this place is a gem and much needed to stay here in Minneapolis. Their menu looks so fascinating that there are more dishes that I want to try, which I am committed to doing. I will also recommend this establishment to anyone looking for Turkish food in the Twin Cities!

Recommend getting a reservation before going as it’s a pretty busy restaurant most days. Their menu offers various cuisines from American to Turkish, Italian, Indian, and Mediterranean. The food is really good but it can take a while to get your orders since it’s a busy restaurant. Definitely recommend trying their tiramisu though!

I had a wonderful experience with my orders and service. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service was fast and smooth. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, well-organized, and spotless, which made the visit even more enjoyable.

I ordered the Beyti, and it was absolutely delicious. The Turkish coffee was rich and satisfying, while the Sütlaç (rice pudding) truly made me feel at home in Turkey—it’s a must-try! The fresh Turkish tea was also outstanding and the perfect way to end the meal.

If you’re looking for authentic Turkish flavors paired with warm hospitality, Lumi is a place you shouldn’t miss!

Such a beautiful place! I came because it was a zabiha restaurant originally and it is Ramadan but it definitely surpassed my expectations. I enjoyed the food. I ordered the fettuccine creamy beef and it was a 10/10. My friend ordered a burger and fries and enjoyed it as well. The portion vs food was well worth it in my opinion. Both of our dishes were about 60$ including tip.

The ambiance was nice as well, new families with their baby were amongst us. As well as, friends and groupings of relatives. I would definitely return here and try the rest of the menu.

Parking was a challenge but we found street parking thank god!

Overall rating…. 10/10.

Went two days in a row because it’s unbelievable at all levels. Second day the bread and the coffee was on the house. Can’t really ask for more. If I’m ever in Minneapolis again, I’ll be back!

Loved this restaurant! Great variety of food. The Mezze Platter was incredible because we got to try a bunch of different items. I live a ways away but I would totally drive out of my way for the girit mezze. The atmosphere and service was good too. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back!
