Food was great. Classic French onion soup, great bread and butter, and some tasty Mac and cheese. The pork belly in the Mac and cheese could use more texture, it was moist and fall apart, but I was looking for a fatty crispy bacon in my mac and cheese.
Service was good. She had a table of 6 get up and leave prior to ordering and it threw her off. She also had another patron that was absorbing her time with endless and useless speech.
Overall it was great adventurous food in a quaint location.

Not sure what was up on this Friday at lunch time. I travel for work around the Midwest and I’m always looking for good food spots. The pictures looked awesome! I spend quite a bit of time checking out pictures, menus etc while out of town to try to find good food. Having to eat out most meals is a terrible part of life on the road. I try to eat once a day and eat something decent. I went wanting their soup of the day, and the Turkey Pesto Sandwich posted multiple times in their photos. (Many photos, usually means it’s good and it’s consistent) Was there right at 11:30 am. I’m the only one in there and it’s a little odd but no big deal. Server is very nice and seats me. I ask for soup and the sandwich, no daily soup today… Ok, no big deal. Just want the warm sandwich on a rainy day. I get the sandwich pictured with clearly a very old hamburger bun. I sit there a couple minutes trying to figure out what is going on. I finally just get up and state,I’m not eating this and I was ready to just go somewhere else. The owner comes and gets my plate and returns with another sandwich that looks pleasant and I thank him for that. But it’s a cold turkey sandwich with pesto on a big hamburger bun. Kind of a weird sandwich. I couldn’t do it. Paid and left. I’d love to try some of the food pictured next time I’m through Sedalia. Maybe not be open for lunch if the menu can’t be served? Not sure.

The food was delicious & it was well worth the drive. The pork chops with peaches & bourbon glaze were amazing. Chef Chris has outdone himself!

I’ve eaten here the last few nights in a row and I can tell you it is far and away some of best food and drink available within 100 miles of here.
Tonight I went light with the French Onion soup, and while a little peppery for my taste it was really, really good overall.
I went for the oysters Rockefeller afterwards and it was simply, delicious! Washed them down with a nice martini.
Last night I had the fried green tomatoes, really tasty with their dijon sauce(I couldn’t finish them). Then a Maine lobster roll and it was killer. They make their own “dressing” , sort of like a fresh, very light, whipped mayo with tarragon and a good fresh lemon finish. Seriously legit. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the bun was flawlessly executed. Save yourself a trip to Bar Harbor and hop in for one of these rolls here.
Aside from next level food their bar is top notch as well. Blanton’s bourbon, Ocean’s Organic Vodka, and drinks prepared by the award-winning, 3 time “Best Bartender in Sedalia”!
Bring your friends or a date if you want to show people you know the best spot in town. You won’t leave disappointed.

My food was alright (New Orleans Shrimp and Grits). Definitely not as good as NOLA but that is high standards for Missouri. Cool place with bank door and fish pitchers. Served our robotics team but was a little expensive. The kid next to me didn’t have money.

This was our first visit and we will be back to try it again but have a few suggestions! I love this building and what a fabulous location downtown. However, the beer bottles in the window sill need to go and the overall decor needs some work. Chairs are also very uncomfortable. I think stepping up the ambiance would impress people right when they enter! Service was top notch as was the wine and drink selection (just closed my eyes at tacky bar area). Now for food— The bread and butter are perfect! I had the lamb chops and they were a bit chewy and not salty enough. I could not taste any horseradish in the horseradish mashed potatoes which was disappointing. I also think for $36 there should a vegetable included with the entree. My husband had the pork chop and it was good. His roasted potatoes were dry but that was his only complaint. Overall, the drinks and menu are worthy of a better environment and a beef up on sides with entrees would help greatly!

Absolutely Incredible Experience at Truffle and Sorrel!
I can’t say enough good things about Truffle and Sorrel! Every time I visit, the food blows me away. The Trout Benny was absolutely phenomenal — perfectly cooked trout with a rich, flavorful hollandaise that tied everything together beautifully. I’ve also tried the blackened salmon, and it’s hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had: perfectly seasoned, moist, and packed with flavor.
And I have to mention the strawberry salad — it’s pure magic. Fresh, vibrant, and so well-balanced, it’s the perfect start to any meal here. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, with fresh ingredients and attention to detail. Truffle and Sorrel has quickly become one of my favorite spots, and I can’t wait to come back again and again!

Oh my goodness gracious!!!! I stopped in for dinner while out of town for business and everything I had was absolutely divine! I had been craving a lobster roll and I was excited to see it on the menu. It was buttery and simple but soooooo good! I was also craving mashed potatoes and they were amazing as well with a kick of horseradish. This meal will go into my list of top 10 food experiences!
If I’m ever in Sedalia again I will be stopping here first!

We had the pleasure of hosting our office Christmas dinner at Truffle & Sorrel last night, and it was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Chef Chris was fantastic to work with—he made sure everything was perfect. The food was out of this world—each dish was beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavors. The entire office had a wonderful time, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate the holidays. Highly recommend Truffle & Sorrel for any special event or dinner. We’ll definitely be back!
