The sushi was ok but mostly salty and it didn’t have much flavor of anything else. It felt like it was rolled with too much rice. The sweet potato roll didn’t have enough fried batter on the outside. The spicy tuna didn’t have enough spicy mayo. The Shiitake was pretty good. It tasted pickled but tasted like it was probably just made with rice vinegar and mirin. But that’s just it. Nothing tasted really special and felt like I could make it at home – not saying I could I’m saying that it tasted too simple.
The scallop Dlx was very good, but even though it was torched, it didn’t have enough of that flambé flavor that I love. It wasn’t an explosion of flavor.
The spicy mayo was great.
The waitress only came to bring us our food and didn’t come back until much later to give us our bill. Waiting for that was annoying.
And finally, the chopsticks were pretty dinky and lame.
Food is always terrific & the service is amazing. The staff is so friendly, and I saw the hardest working busboy I’ve ever seen in my life !!! GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE !!! He ran circles around the younger workers. He kept our water glasses full and took our plates when we were done with perfect timing. Great night out for my Birthday !!! Will return. DON’T SKIP THIS PLACE if you’re in the area !!! The bacon crab ragoon will leave you wanting another order !!!
We ordered red dragon and ocean drive roll and both of them were delicious. The menu is pretty big so you will fine a great variety of things to order.
I ordered the summer roll and spicy salmon deluxe. Both were incredible and the quality of the fish was amazing. The only very very minor issue was that the rolls came with 5 or 6 pieces instead of 6 or 8, but had the same amount of rice and filling so each piece was really big and a little hard to eat in one bite – this would not discourage me from getting them again. The two rolls were very filling.
I also ordered miso soup, which was very good as well and not too salty.
We were the only customers at one point (2pm on a Saturday), so our food came out really quickly. Service was great and our waters were consistently refilled.
The spicy tuna hand roll is a must. It’s one of the best spicy tuna hand rolls we have had and what makes it stand out from the rest is that you can see the pieces of tuna! It’s not just mixed in. Dining here for lunch is a breeze with menu special options. We have brought guests who are not fans of sushi and they have enjoyed the many other items offered like yakisoba, bento boxes and more. P.S. We see lots of regulars which is always a good sign.
We love it and also appreciate the fact that they make kids feel welcomed.
