Went to City Post for Sunday brunch. First thing’s first – Parking is difficult depending on when you choose to go there. Be prepared to get there early and hunt for parking. I parked on Myrtle rd few blocks from the restaurant. Second, on Sunday it closes by 2pm, so be prepared to reserve and get there early.

The restaurant is set in a gorgeous building and they have maintained the history of the place. The food is great, I loved it. I had the eggs Benedict with tenderloin and the eggs were just perfect. Paired with roasted potatoes, I had my fill of carbs for the day. The cocktails were the highlight – in transit and Georgetown sunrise – I’d recommend both 🙂
Topped off the meal with Affogato and that was the icing on the cake for such a great meal. It’s a bit towards the pricey end but enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.

The service was great as well. Overall nice place to go for lunch!

Went for our anniversary dinner. This tomahawk porkchop was amazing. My partner enjoyed the fish. Will definitely be visiting again.

Then went to the Brass Peacock, and if you’re at the city post do yourself a favor and go downstairs. Very unique experience!

Only had oysters and drinks, but both were very good. Service was very good, and they were very generous letting us sample till we picked what we liked. Cool and attentive staff with great service. Sorry my photos aren’t the best.

We’ve been a few times now and had one of the best meals last night with the lamb chops that were enough to share. We split a salad and our entree came with some delicious mashed potatoes. It’s the next day and we are still talking about how amazing the meal was paired with fantastic service. I think we’ll be back sooner rather than later. Also get the country white cake! It’s amazing!

A lunch so good it feels like Georgetown’s best kept secret finally slipped out. I brought a friend who was visiting, and we both walked away wondering why this place isn’t packed at noon every day. It was quiet, the service was dialed in, and the food was absolutely flawless—like the kitchen woke up and chose excellence.
For reasons known only to the reservation gods, getting a dinner spot here usually requires calling, pleading, and possibly offering up a firstborn. So I gambled on lunch instead… and won. Highly recommend making this your midday move.
And the location? A daytime dream. City Post sits perfectly positioned for a slow, charming stroll through town, popping into all the cute shops you swear you’re “just browsing.” It’s the ideal start to a Georgetown afternoon.

Outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely excellent — perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Cort, our waiter, was also outstanding: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being overbearing.

The value for the quality was great, and the ambiance really elevated the experience. We were seated in a more secluded area, which kept the noise level low — perfect for me, especially with my hearing loss. That thoughtful seating made the evening even more enjoyable.

We’ll definitely be back.

Went to City Post for the first time on NYE with my boyfriend to celebrate almost a year of dating and was delighted by the service provided by everyone, even Sarah the lady who handled all the reservation craziness!
Our server was amazing, never wanted for anything. We enjoyed a delightful meal and never felt rushed or like we were part of a manufacturing plant process. ;p
After dinner, we had reservations for The Brass Peacock downstairs and enjoyed live jazz with a few other patrons from the same dinner service time (830p) for 12p Champagne Toast!
They even provided a background area for party goers to take group pics and selfies; bringing in 2026!!
Thanks for the experience and making new friends!

My wife and I looked forward to our reservation at City Post. We like trying new places and this looked promising.

First, the good: The aura is great, and it felt upscale without being stuffy. We loved the little touches like the stamp on the ice cube in my old fashioned. Also, we added grilled shrimp to my entree, and I appreciated they removed the entire shell so that no meat was inside and only actual tail fins were attached. The service was also terrific. My wife’s lobster roll was really good as was my dry aged rib eye.

The less than stellar: the fries with the lobster roll were all but inedible; not crisp, not very flavorful and almost seemed like an after thought. The lobster mac and cheese was ok, but we expected it to be really good given the nature of City Post. We like eating at restaurants that make better food than we do and those two sides just weren’t up to that standard. We felt that fries should be a bumpset for skilled chefs and the mac and cheese should also be an easy score. So, for that reason, I rated the food lower. One last thing – my steak knife was about as sharp as a plastic butter knife. I get that I don’t need razor blade sharpness, but I had to do quite a bit of sawing just to cut my steak.

With that said, we enjoyed our time. We had the perfect table and except for the sides, this would’ve been an easy 5 stars.

The atmosphere was great. It’s more of a casual fine dining. The seafood is immaculate. The scallop dish is the best I have ever had. It is sweet, savory and fresh. The oysters are extremely juicy and sweet. Straight from the ocean.
The steak was cooked perfectly. Very tender and well-seasoned. It’s important to pair it with the lobster mac n cheese because that dish is amazing.
The staff was nice and friendly. They were super attentive and refilled our drinks right on time.
The price is a bit on the high side but you get what you pay for. The quality is top notch and I will definitely be back here for the seafoods.
