Not sure how this restaurant received the 4 and 5 star reviews. The food was extremely disappointing. Basic breaded chicken strips, lobster salad with a few pieces of lobster and old bottom of the bag spinach mixed salad. You can tell cause the wilted black old spinach that is found at the bottom of the bag was on the plate along with a nice piece of plastic. Lobster roll was small and unremarkable and the brisket sandwich was just okay. The only thing remarkable about this restaurant would be the old building. That was cool. If you decide not to eat here trust me you will not miss anything special. I am really confused by the high ratings. You really should consider passing this by

We stopped in for Dinner on 1-05-26 and our waitress was Brenna I believe, She said she was fairly new but did a great job, was friendly and helpful. All three of us were happy with our meals and the price was great for dinner and desert. My Steak was cooked perfectly. It was comfortable and relaxing with plenty of options on the menu. The last time I was here was in 2004 but I will go back more often now. Thank you for a nice experience.

Best French Onion Soup that we’ve ever had! Portions so big, you can’t finish your meal! Service was outstanding! Husband had Black Angus burger and I had Chicken Parmesan. French Onion Soup. Onion rings out of this world!! We would definitely return!

Made reservations here days in advance. When we got there, they weren’t incredibly busy, but we almost half an hour while they sat other tables around us and started taking their orders and not a single server so much as said hi to us or took our drink orders. We ended up leaving and when I told the staff what happened on our way out, not a single one of them apologized, all I got was an “Oh ok” from one of the waitresses. Extremely disappointed as this wrecked our Valentine’s day because at that point any other decent restaurants in the area were completely booked.

It was our first time here, the hostess suggested we sit in the bar area. There were two loud, seemingly intoxicated gentlemen at the bar area. Our server, Mel was the only good thing about our evening although her visits weren’t timely she was friendly and made us laugh. She was mostly serving in the dining room, so I understood how we were an after thought. We bothordered a seasonal Mule and they give you the ginger beer bottle with it. Half my bottle was used in the drink and not even quarter for my husband’s. We had two completely different drinks. His was so sour we couldn’t drink it and mine tasted like pure ginger. We got the pot stickers which were okay, tasted similar to what I get from Sam’s club and heat up in my air fryer. My pasta was drowning in butter, seriously it was like butter soup with penne in it with virtually no flavor. Honestly would have loved to sit in the dining room and really disappointed in the drinks as well as the food. I don’t often review but it felt like a huge waste of money.

If you come around, you want to try the food of this beautifully maintained restaurant. Everything we had was very tasty with high quality ingredients, and we have to note that our service was by Ashley who welcomed us with smile, and did her best to keep us happy and help us with anything we needed. We will see you again soon!

Two of us went in for a quick, lite, late lunch a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere is nice at the bar and small dining room. We were not able to sit in the main dining room. It seems there was a small event. They sometimes block that room off for day or evening events.
I ordered a glass of wine with French onion soup and a small house salad. The cheese on the soup was burned on one half. The bread underneath the cheese didn’t seem toasted or sturdy enough at all – it was so mushy and gluey. The broth tasted bland and like chicken stock instead of beef. The house salad looked good when it came out, but as I was mixing it around, there were slimy, black pieces of spring mix. I couldn’t eat it.
My partner ordered a beer, the calamari which looked anemic, was under fried, and very unappealing. He ate what he could.
Our servers timing was all off. She was very friendly, but we had to ask for water three times. She brought our wine and beer first, forgot my partners second beer, and disappeared for at least 10 minutes when we were ready for the check.
We wound up going to the bar to ask the bartender for our check and asked that the salad be removed from the bill. They told us they could discount the salad. We explained that we couldn’t and didn’t eat it and she then took it off the bill. We were in there for over an hour due to all the wait times for food and drink.
I hear good things about their dinner food and service, but we definitely had the “B team.”
Also, most of the food seemed like it was straight from Sysco. I could do better at home.

After my steak came out nearly raw, I decided to order a burger instead and asked for it medium—only for it to come out almost raw again. No one checked in to see how the food was either time. Really disappointing experience, and I won’t be coming back.

Bistro 1202 at the Wayne hotel in holmesburg. Pennsylvania was a rare gem of a find on our travels to the northeast. Stopping there for lunch. We encountered an old hotel with a beautiful dining room and a lovely bar. The food was excellent. Featuring the best of New England seafood and local sandwiches can’t go wrong
