I have no issue that the store ran out of a food item that prevented the completion of my order. My issue is how they handled it. My order was placed at 11:34am. When I had not received my order at 12:30, I went to the counter to check on the status and they said that they are out of turkey and to pick something else. I said I want a refund. They said that has to be done online. I asked for the manager’s name and the 4 ladies working said they are all the managers. I asked for a name and they all said nothing. None of them had a name tag on.
They could have handled this differently and it could have made the difference in whether or not I will continue to be a loyal rewards member. They made zero effort to try and inform me via the app or asking for me while waiting in the store for my order. They waited until I approached the counter and wasted my time and compounding how poorly they handled the issue.
On top of that, they lied to me. They told me I had to get the refund via online. The email via the app on for refund indicates that the store manager makes the decision on a refund.
This makes me question if I should trust these people handling the food that I will be eating.
Please resolve this as I love Firehouse and do not want to have to find another sub restaurant.
Fast forward to today, one co worker decides to order again individually, hoping the first wasnt just a fluke. She has success once again. So, I decided to try again myself, as well as try some other items. I set up my account, place my order on line, then go in to pick up my order after the designated time. As im walking in, I have my phone in hand with my confirmation pulled up to reference to. When I look up from my phone, im squinting to see where I need to go to pick up my order. As im looking around, the place is practically empty of customers. Not sure if theres a manager on site but i did notice theres a young african american female, male and a young caucasian male watching me look around as i enter. No acknowlegement or anyone to ask if they can help find something/someone. So I just get in line behind the gentleman placing his order since im not familiar with the setup of the location, the process for (their) pickup orders, etc., (nor can i see, mind you) thinkining I could just ask for assistance at the counter. Again, this is my first time here or even ordering so im not familiar with the building and even the atmosphere. The whole time, employees watching as im still looking around to try to find some indication of pickup orders and of course lost at the same time. So I go ahead and step up to the counter after the preveious gentleman and made the young lady aware I was the for an online pickup order. Immediately she smirked and asked for the name. I gave the name and she turned to the other workers and asked if they had one for the name I gave. The caucasian male answered faintly, also with a smirking laugh, stating it was on the rack. The girl dimissively points to the right of the register closer to the entrance and says its on the rack over here. I say, “im sorry, where did you say the rack was”? She then rudely and deliberately points again and says “Down There”! Yes, I was slightly offended by her demeanor but i didnt notice that my food was there on the second rack of the shelf, nor did I know that was the rack designated for pickups. I had not been there previously nor do I recall any email instructions where to pick up the food upon entering. Not saying they werent any, But I do not recall seeing anything of the such either way. So I turn & proceeded to walk back towards the shelf. As im walking, I see the sign that was hanging from above for the pick up orders and I said ” Oh, Okay i see the sign”. Then realized that it was hanging a little higher than would be expected to catch (anyone’s) attention. For all anyone knew it could have been for bathroom or exit. But that wasnt the issue. As I got my food and proceeded to leave, the issue was the girl and guy mouthing off as i was leaving. I stopped in the door way to take a quick look in the bag to confirm everything was correct before I left and I heard the girl say ” And you saw how I did my hand, didnt you?” to the others. I paused and was immendiately annoyed bc not only did she seem rude and somewhat disrespectful and the others were dismissive, but she was actually acknowledging her intent of it and they were literally in agreeance with her, laughing! I literally stood there still looking into the bag trying to decide if I was going to go back and ask for a manager to confront the situation and subtley let the workers know I heard everything, or just leave and let God handle it. When I got back to the job, I told what happened. A peer agrees to seeing similar seeing unprofessionalism
