The restaurant is small and modern — more of an upscale rooftop bar atmosphere that also serves dinner. We were seated outside and enjoyed a wonderful view of the river, which made for a great Valentine’s setting. There was a duet playing live music, which added energy to the evening, though in a smaller space with minimal sound-absorbing decor it felt a little loud at times.
The hostess was very nice and welcoming. I had to smile when she gave “Monsieur” her best shot — I work for a French-based company and speak a little French myself, so I notice those things — but I appreciated the effort to create an upscale ambiance.
Our server was congenial and accommodating. He happily made me a Sangria even though it wasn’t on the drink menu, which I appreciated. His personality leaned more casual than what the restaurant seems to be aiming for, but his friendliness was genuine and well-intentioned.
For food, we started with the Grilled Octopus. It was very tender, though I would have loved a bit more bold flavor. The main courses, however, were outstanding. I had the 16 oz Ribeye with Za’atar butter — cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, which was equally excellent. We skipped dessert as nothing quite jumped out at us, but we left very satisfied with the meal.
All in all, it was a lovely evening with excellent food and a beautiful setting. With a little refinement in front-of-house polish to match the quality coming out of the kitchen, this place could truly hit the high notes. We would absolutely return — especially for the ribeye and the view.
Started with the mussels — fresh and flavorful — and had the sea bass for dinner, perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. They surprised us with an unforgettable anniversary dessert and a rich espresso to end the night. The wine selection is fantastic, and the atmosphere is elegant yet cozy. Truly a memorable experience!
The staff are wonderful and attentive. The food was another level! We had a salmon roll that was delicious…and I do NOT like raw fish. I even ate my husbands. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and it was placed at the top of our list. I could have eaten so many more. My husband ordered the mushroom risotto off the sides section and I ordered the sea bass. Everything was so good….beyond good. My only negative is that I left hungry after eating everything I ordered and it wasn’t inexpensive. The martinis were just as amazing as the food. It Is very upscale and everything exceeded our expectations.
The hotel itself is very pretty. Everything is new and the hotel staff were all very helpful and pleasant. However, the restaurant is… lacking. The lights were so bright it provided zero atmosphere and there’s no real theme or design. The restaurant has white, light grey, taupe, and other bland colors and feels like a giant bar with a few 2 and 4 top tables surrounding it. There were about 7 or so 4 top tables 2 where the majority of people were eating, and two of them were open but the hostess walked us around the back corner and sat us at a small 2 top pressed up against the wall with my back to the entrance of the bar and kitchen where all the servers are constantly walking. Even though there were plenty of other nicer tables available, she chose to sit us there. Also, when I made the reservation, it asked me if it was a special occasion and if I had any special requests. I said anniversary and requested a window table. She never acknowledged our celebration or our request even though there were plenty of nice tables available. What’s the point of asking if they don’t take the time to read it?! Our server was okay, but it didn’t feel as if he wanted to even be there. He mumbled when answering questions, and it was just not a nice server-patron relationship.
When I opened the menu, I was astonished. Absolutely nothing was the same as what’s online, and their seafood tower is no longer available. It’s not even on the menu! When I asked the waiter, he told me he’s had multiple guests ask for it every shift he’s worked, and people constantly complain about it not being available yet showing online as a showpiece of their appetizers. That’s a huge red flag for management.
We decided to start with apps and sushi and see where it went from there. The Ocean Roll says it has “crab” but contains imitation “krab” instead. It’s also topped with a lemon tahini sauce which was bland and horrible tasting. The roll itself was warm and flimsy and just unpleasant all around.
The Mediterranean dip trio had this flavorless sesame oil dip that was gross, and the only good part was the lemon feta butter with the different types of bread. I ordered a dozen raw oysters which were cold, firm, and shucked properly but barely tasted like anything as if they had been rinsed. I also ordered the strawberry mocktail, which was so tart and bitter I couldn’t drink it. It needs simple syrup or honey.
We were going to try some other things but the waiter took so long to come back to our table that I decided to try the deconstructed key lime pie and call it a night. As you can clearly see from the photo, there is nothing deconstructed about it. It was a store bought, gritty, imitation “key lime” pie cut into a rectangle with a flower shaped dollop of meringue. It felt like a precut dessert you’d find in a hospital cafeteria. Overall the food presentation is nice, but the quality and execution are very disappointing.
The restaurant is clearly lacking proper management and could be so much more successful if it was under the correct leadership. From the lack of atmosphere and ambiance, to the staff’s lack of knowledge and understanding of the menu and proper restaurant etiquette, to the awful tasteless food and blatant misrepresentation, the whole experience is a disappointment.
I ran my own catering company, managed restaurants, and redesigned menus for years in my youth. It wouldn’t take much to get this restaurant booming. A change of management, some ambiance, mandatory training, and a menu overhaul is all it needs,
However, as it stands now, this is unfortunately another restaurant on the “no” list.
The views are priceless!
