Saw this place driving into the city for work and actually was my second option. My first impression of the cashier (Amanda) was pleasant, guy in front of me kept changing his order but she didn’t lose her cool and help him with a smile and did the same for me. 10/10 for service. My first option didn’t open until 7pm so I decided to stop by. I was expecting the food to be delicious and they delivered!! Got the tacos matamoros and they were Awesome!! Very tasty, the asada meat was season well and very tender. The papa asada side was great by itself, I could eat it as an entree. The order of tacos came with a side of pico, cilantro, limes, salsa and sautéed onions. What could use some help was the charros beans 7/10 for me, a bit watery in my opinion. Overall great tasting food, will definitely stop here again on my next visit. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Customer service 10/10
Food 10/10
Waiting time 10/10

I will start with the tacos, they are high quality and they load them up!! I usually get trompo and tripa tacos. The tripa is always delicious. Service is ok, they are not rude or anything just ok. Music is a bit loud at times for the size of the location, regardless highly recommend this place.

Loud crappy music. Good is super greasy and no taste. Sope was hard and old meat. One of my tacos was spoiled. Best part was beans and chips. Everything else noooo good! Not returning

We dropped in here for lunch. Knew nothing about it at all. A little difficulty communicating because we aren’t good with Spanish, but we figured it out and placed an order. The food was, in short, OUTSTANDING! Beef was lean, tender and wonderfully seasoned. There are fresh, warm chips (apparently all you can eat) and a bar with tasty salsas and toppings for your tacos. The plate came with 4 tacos, a generous bowl of the best beans (like a bean soup) I have EVER had, a delicious, cheesy potato dish, and grilled young onions.
I don’t think it’s fair to judge “atmosphere” here. It’s just fine for what it is: a perfect little lunch cafe. Music was just a tad loud, in my opinion, but that won’t stop me from going back. We will DEFINITELY go back!
(It would be very helpful if they offered an English translation of the menu.)

Wanted to try this place for lunch. The service was good and the food was great! The salsa and more bar was great. You can help yourself to tortilla chips, different salsas, carrots in jalapeño liquid, limes and sliced cucumbers. They also had the utensils and napkins available. The restaurant was colorful, the music was a tad too loud. The only thing is they don’t offer a glass of water, you have to buy bottled water or any other drinks available, with no refills. The price is reasonable but as always the overall price is hiked up if a free glass of water is not available. We will return for the food but may opt to take out to save on the drink cost.

All I have to say is WOW! These are hands down the best tacos you’ll find in the RGV. They are pricey but they are worth it. The meat has an amazing taste and the food is always cooked to order. There is a bit of a wait time but your food is always piping hot so you know it’s cooked fresh. The beans taste amazing too. I ordered the quesadillas de asada comes with everything shown. I am glad I work nearby so I can treat myself every now and then. You won’t regret coming here!!

The tacos are really good here, the bistec was tender and good cuts. The beans stood out to me because the chorizo in them, great combination. Their selection was good. Will be returning to try different items on their menu 🙂

Finally came to this place after seeing it forever, ordered my food and albeit a little pricey… the food didn’t disappoint the charro beans were a surprise, the burrito I ordered was huge, and for once, the trompo from a place was actually tasty and not dried out. I will be gladly coming back.

Not sure how meat is cooked but there was a lingering aftertaste. Sort of a chemical flavor that reminded me of lighter fluid. Which seemed weird. Couldn’t finish plate. They sort of premix potato for you and give you a scoop rather than a papa. The beans were mostly broth not much of beans and a pretty small serving to begin with. The fixings were all thrown together in a small box mixed for the two orders. We had ordered Matamoros tacos. And two Mexican cokes. All in all, we were very excited to try a new place and actually went here because of all the good reviews. But this just wasn’t for us.
