This place was so good! The gorditas were fresh and the carne was delicious. I tried both salsas and the red was my favorite. Spicy but yummy. I also had an agua de melon which was good. 10/10 overall!

I did take out at Gorditas Dona Lula located on Shary Rd. one block north of Expressway 83. The flavors here represent South Texas in a big way and are presented in variety of delicious combinations. The combo supreme Gordita is one you have to try, add either the red or green salsa and Boom! Taste explosion. The nopal (cactus) in red sauce on point, and you gotta love the crunchy chicharron. There are meatless selections available, besides the cactus, there is Poblano pepper and cheese, and one of my new faves the grilled Panela cheese Gordita. I keep going back to Dona Lula’s to try different flavors and have never been dissatisfied.

The food is great but the service is awful. I called at 1:30pm and was left on hold. Walked in and placed my To-Go order. Informed clerk and he said was “busy.” I told him to at least let me know instead leaving customers hanging.

2nd time here. The food is great but its a gordita and you can’t really eat it like one. Way to much juice in their meats as soon as you get it it falls apart. It will be tacos the next visit as the gordita falls apart.
