I visited DNY late at night and am so impressed with the deliciousness! We came to the restaurant to order a late night pizza and got the best pizza in all of Florida! We ordered a small pepperoni where the store took the pizza out of the oven early to add extra sauce and made the crust cooked to perfection! The pizza melted in our mouths and had the right amount of cheese and pepperoni! We ate the left over slices cold in the morning and it still tasted as good! The staff was so accommodating! They asked how we want the pizza and knew we were in a time crunch making sure they accommodated our needs! The inside of the store was pleasant as we waited for our fresh pizza to be ready for carry-out! The staff talked to us throughout the time in between customers ensuring we felt comfortable as we waited! We had to go back a second time before leaving Fort Lauderdale because the pizza was so delicious! Highly recommend this great place as your go-to for pizza!

DNY Pizza is a true hidden gem on Oakland Park Boulevard just less than a tenth of a mile from the beach and absolutely worth the stop, especially if you are vegan or traveling with someone who is. The name says it all. DNY stands for Detroit and New York, and they serve both styles with equal mastery. They also offer gluten free options and, even better, a full lineup of house made vegan choices.
What really sets DNY Pizza apart is the level of care that goes into their vegan menu. Their vegan cheese, vegan sausage, and vegan pepperoni are all made in house, and you can taste the difference. They even make vegan cookies, and while the vegan ice cream is not made in house, it is still excellent.
We ordered a New York style pizza with vegan pepperoni and mushrooms and a Detroit style pizza with vegan sausage, peppers, and onions. Both were incredible. The crusts were perfect. New York is foldable and flavorful, Detroit is thick and crispy on the edges. Choosing a favorite really comes down to personal preference. I honestly could not pick one. The vegan sausage was especially impressive, full of flavor, and the pepperoni was cooked just right. Next time the only thing I would change is asking for extra cheese. It was so good that I just wanted more.
The sauce is just as good as everything else, and I recommend asking for a side of it for dipping. I usually leave some crust behind, but not here. Both crusts were so well done that I did not leave a single bite.
A heads up. Seating is limited, and because everything is made fresh to order, expect about a fifteen to twenty minute wait. If you are hungry, call ahead or order in advance.
Overall, DNY Pizza is absolutely worth trying. There are not many places making their own vegan cheese, vegan sausage, vegan pepperoni, and even their own vegan cookies. Give them a shot and let me know what you think when you go.

Long over-due review. We have had the fortune of eating at DNY Pizzeria weekly since they opened and getting to know the amazing owner John very well! My boyfriend is a meat-eater, and I’m vegan! DNY Pizzeria is the perfect place for both of us to enjoy the best Detroit-Style Pizza in South Florida! Boyfriend loves the Meat Lover! I enjoy the Vegan Fungi and add Vegan Sausage, Basil, and dip into Vegan Ranch! Vegan Garlic Knots are also a must! Best of all they have dessert. Their vegan cookies are phenomenal! We enjoy trying all of the rotating flavors. John takes great care in what he does. And the vegan ingredients are made in-house. Truly the freshest, best, won’t get anywhere else vegan pizza available. Whether you’re vegan or not, make the trip here and enjoy! Thanks John!

Best Detroit style pizza in Broward County. The crust is nice and crispy, and the sauce and cheese have good flavor. Ordered one Detroit style pizza, one NY style, and the baked wings with hot sauce. I thought the wings were good, could have use just a bit more buffalo sauce. She offered an extra side of hot, should have taken it. I prefer a baked wing over a fried wing, so if you like them baked you should be good. the NY style pizza is not bad, just the Detroit style is way better. The place is tiny, so it’s probably better for take out, or to grab on the way to the beach. The food was good enough, that I’ll try the other menu items next time. To see if they compare to the Detroit style pizza and wings.
This is an update. This place is legit. I found out the owner makes just about everything in house. I always go with the Detroit pizza and wings if they have them.

A hidden gem with beautiful Detroit style deep dish pizzas! They have the perfect thickness, buttery crust, and crispy caramelized cheese edges. This is the deep dish pie of your fantasies. The owner was there and seemed like a very nice guy.

My wife is vegan. She loved the vegan options. She was happy he had a vegan cheese and many veggie options. I had the meatlovers. The owner gladly halved our pizza to fit our needs. They also have awesome vegan cookies to choose from. First time eating here. When we are back in town we will come back!

What an incredible experience!! And amazing menu! I am floored by the options for regular and vegan! Everything was so delicious I couldn’t believe it was vegan! And the cookies are a must, I cant believe I’ve lived in Oakland park this long without having it. High quality, made in house, and delicious. We were unsure what to get, but the owner helped us patiently through the selection and also offered to do half-and-half. We got an XL one for the two of us two and it was delicious!
The owner is so kind, he is trying to single-handedly grow his business after recently moving here for the weather (who wouldn’t get that), so we were happy to have chosen this great place!

We found this pizza due to dietary restriction for our son. The vegan pizza is amazing with Cauliflower crust!! We also ordered the ultimate pizza which is out of this world Full of cheese and pizza sauce. They have Detroit style crust, New York style crust and also gluten-free! Try them out.

I had the small with pepperoni and sausage. The square crust was delightful. It was airy and had crunchy edges.
I’m not from Detroit. Yet I love the city and have eaten at Buddy’s a couple of times.
The owner is from Detroit. He knows Buddy’s inside and out. He nailed the pans.
I will visit here again. For what it’s worth, I could not finish it all. I left a sliver.
They have two high top tables inside and a table for two outside.
