My husband and I have fully entered our regular era here. They opened the same week I had our daughter and by day four of their soft opening, we were those parents… bringing our tiny newborn out for our first official family outing. Priorities? Espresso.
It felt meant to be though. We’re both Italian, grew up with dads who are unreal in the kitchen, and this food just tastes like home. Like Sunday-at-your-parents’-house kind of home.
And the espresso bar? Listen. I love coffee the way Lorelai loves coffee — “only with my oxygen.” So the fact that this place is walking distance from our house feels… irresponsible for us financially and caffeinely
But truly, it’s everything. The food, the people, the events. Sal and his team always take such good care of us. We’re just really happy we found our spot, very much giving Lorelai finding Luke’s Diner energy.
If you know, you know. ☕️

This is our new favorite place for fresh brewed coffee, homemade bread, artisan cheese, sandwiches and soup! Sal is friendly and welcoming and will tell you where they source their flour and coffee and all about their family recipes from Italy. Bring your laptop or friends and hang out in this warm, welcoming place! Photo of the Panini Speziale and white bean and greens soup.

Great breakfast loved the scrambled eggs with Italian cheese and sour dough toast. Coffee was also very good. We will be back maybe for lunch. Bought olive bread so good.

Our new favorite spot. From the second you walk in you feel like family. Everyone is so incredibly nice and accommodating. The food is fresh, made with love & truly unbelievable. We brought our son (8 months) and the two fire upfront were making him smile the entire time. From the sandwiches, to the bread cookies & ice cream amazzzzing. Looking forward to coming back & highly highly recommend. The chef cooks with pride and you feel like you’ve stepped into their family kitchen.

Sal! What a perfect discovery…beyond thankful to find your cafe!! Only in Morris Plains a few days, but I was at your place every day, sometimes twice! The grilled cheese sandwich with pesto, the cappuccino! I My son called one morning just to tell me the croissant was a s good as the ones he had every morning in Europe a few weeks earlier. I will bring my husband when we are back in town…and so glad my son has moved to Morris Plains!

I absolutely love a good salad! I know I’m crazy but I do. I had the best salad that I’ve had in a long time here today. It was fresh and the burrata was amazing! Their sauces are made fresh and the gelato was spectacular! Stop by for some truly FRESH, minimally processed food that tastes like it was cooked on the farm in Italy;)

The shop uses great quality ingredients for all of their products. There’s no preservatives used for their baked goods. The owner and employees are extremely friendly and approachable. It’s an establishment that you’d be proud to give your business to and wish for its continuing success. Aside from their amazing baked goods, their gelatos are something you wouldn’t get anywhere else. 100% would recommend to anyone. Their baked goods also make a nice gift as their quality speak for themselves

The bread is outstanding, we have had it multiple times.
We had company for lunch and ordered a couple grazing platters, gelato and biscotti. It was perfect. Would definitely do it again

Looking for a local experience like when you go to “il bar” in Italy? Look no further than this cafe. The food is remarkable—with a Calabrese spin on an American classic breakfast sandwich, their sausage egg and cheese with a cup of espresso is clearly a revolutionary way to start your day. I highly recommend it!
For families with kids, this is a nice open space with plenty of room for strollers and seating. Bring the kiddos and have some coffee/pastries.
